Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.

its written into the styles DNA. there are some metal musicians who make artistic songs but metal just sounds so shitty. Rock had some artistic merit in the mainstream in like in the 70's and again in the 90's but then that style of music became a cashcow and quickly the scene was flooded.
