Jaime has no desire to rule.

His only motivation at this point is Cersei's cunt.

JonxDani will be King and Queen, Jaime will be Lord of the Rock maybe with Brienne, Sansa getting the North and maybe even the Riverlands (through the death of the Tullys) and the Vale (through marriage to Robin), Dike or Dickless will get the Iron ISles, some brown lady will get Dorne and some unintroduced queer will get the reach.

Idk about the stormlands.

and then cersei was married to robert. surely if jaime's only motivation was cersei then becoming kind was the perfect move, since if you love someone so much you dont want a hairy drunktard to fuck her every night... i mean unless someone is a cuck

I think that's why Jaime would be the best king. He would do it because of his sense of duty and not for ambition.

This. Brann doesn't have a leg to stand on, if I was in his shoes I would understand. He should walk a mile in Jamies shoes.
>>
>>86097519
That was old Jamie though, he has probably had the best character development arc in the series. Not saying he wouldn't do dickish things anymore, but I think for the standards set by the rest of the cast he's looking pretty good.

Brienne will be the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, she's a descendent of Ser Duncan and Martin loves that his stories end in full circle.
>>
>>86096368
Jamie can be just as bad as Cersei and he is when it comes to her, he could only be a king if Cersei was dead. He also only has Cersei to live for as when Oleanna called him a fool for loving her and doing anything for her. He was always a good knight/Kingsguard but no one could trust the kingslayer as a king. Tyrion on the other hand knows politics and how to make people get along rather than fight so he'd make a better king overall.

You got no reputation here, you got no name, you got jackshit here. It's survival of the fittest and you ain't gonna survive long on 4chan by saying stupid jokes that your little hugbox cuntsucking reddit friends would upboat. None of that here. You don't upboat. You don't downboat. This ain't reddit, kid. This is 4chan. We have REAL intellectual discussion, something I don't think you're all that familiar with. You don't like it, you can hit the bricks on over to imgur, you daily show watching son of a bitch. I hope you don't tho. I hope you stay here and learn our ways. King and Queen of the Iron Throne: Jon/Daenerys
Lady of the North: Sansa Stark
Lord of the Riverlands: Edmure Tully/his newborn son
Lord of the Vale: Robin Arryn/Yohn Royce
Queen of the Iron Islands (Dany promised them independence): Yara Greyjoy
Lord of the Westerlands: Tyrion Lannister (I can't see Dany or Jon letting Jaime hold any power if he doesn't die vs. the Others)
Lord of the Stormlands: Gendry Baratheon (legitimised)
Lord of the Reach: A minor Tyrell cousin or Samwell Tarly
Princess of Dorne: Sarella Sand

Tywin was the last competent Lannister.

>Tyrion has grabbed the Dragon by its tail and doesn't know what to do now.
>joffrey was an immature figurehead. he needed someone like Ned Stark to mold him into a proper king
>Tommen was immature. instead of being arrogant like Joffrey. He was too easily swayed by the wrong people.

Tywin didn't have a very good plan. If his intentions were to usurp the Baratheon crown and establish Lannister as the royal family. Then he should have told Jamie to keep his dick out of Cersei and deny Robert any heirs, legit or not. Then Cersei could be on the Iron throne, once the Baratheon brothers and their heirs were delt with.

no they didnt. They wanted to check Targ's absolute power and remove them. Historically Great Houses rarely intermarry and dont interact much. The generation of the rebellion (Hoster Tully, Jon Arryn etc..) were clearly plotting a conspiracy to overthrow the Targs for a long time. Theres a reason Robert and Ned were sent to foster with Arryn, its extremely rare for a firstborn heir like Bobby B to be fostered at someone else's seat for such a long time, and Catelyn Tully marrying a Stark, the Baratheon-Tully-Stark-Arryn alliance was formed long before the Rebellion, hell even Hoster Tully and Tywin almost arranged a Jaime-Lysa marriage (before Jaime was in the KG) in an effort to bring the Lannisters into the alliance, but that marriage plan was ruined when Jaime was named to the KG, completely catching Tywin off-guard

I like Jaime plenty, but he is definitely not honorable. That's a huge part of his character, honor and vows don't mean anything to him, he lives by his own personal sense of morality and only that.

But honor clearly does mean something to him. He wanted to keep his vows, but Aerys was the most dishonorable and mad king to have ever existed (arguably).
>>
>>86106514
A big part of his character is pretending to be the honourless Kingslayer people see him as.
He started as someone who believed heavily in idealised chivalry, and his great breaking of an oath was to save the whole realm.
>>
>>86107309
>He started as someone who believed heavily in idealised chivalry, and his great breaking of an oath was to save the whole realm.

The weird thing is that in most fantasy stories, Jamie killing the Mad King would be the heroic climax. The brave young son of a noble house with a golden lion as their crest saves the capital city and ends the war.
>>
Rewatching Jaime in season 1 is maximum comfy.
>>
>>86106621
That's a little different. Washington was entering into an office that had 4-year terms, giving him a way out at the end of any of those terms. He also knew he had competent people surrounding him who could succeed him and run the country properly. Kingship doesn't work that way, Jaime couldn't just abdicate, pick his smartest advisor and say "ok, you're up!". It's for life or until his son is old enough, and who's to say that son will be any good considering how useless his last two sons were?

Ned's biggest flaw was putting too much focus on being honorable and expecting everyone else to be held to the same standard. He didn't really have room in his mind for an acceptable situation where Jaime would break an oath.

Family was extremely important so everyone that cared about House Baratheon would have cared, especially Stannis and Renly.

Also Joffrey was Mad King-tier levels of retarded and malacious so getting rid of him was a nice bonus too.

Actually, as Kingsguard, he swore to defend the king at all costs. Ned didn't betray the king, either, as Stannis was the rightful king, technically speaking.

Littlefinger just cared about his own power(and Catelyn's magical red-haired pussy) so he'd expose or hide that fact depending on what was politically convenient for him while Varys doesn't care about the nobility in particular.

In a culture where family is everything it seems that the Lannisters are trying to steal an entire kingdom from under the Baratheons and unless they can get a piece of that pie they'll obviously be protesting.

Same thing, fact stands that Jon and Ned fought a massive war to help the Baratheons on the Iron Throne and now they're being usurped by the Lannisters who are hated especially by Ned. They're backstabbing his best-friend and stealing his legacy so obviously he's getting a bit upset over it.

He's too stupid to realize that Cersei's a crazy bitch who's gonna be another Aerys.

Tywin was the general there, it's his fault for not anticipating the trap Robb was setting

>He pushed Bran down a building and taunted Catelyn about it.
He pushed him to save his life, Cersei's life, and the lives of their children. And I don't remember him taunting Cat about it, only admitting he did it but refusing to say why.

>Never feels any remorse
He definitely does, it's alluded to when he tells Tyrion there's no word for killing cousins, and confesses it as one of his sins to the High Sparrow I think

>He's too stupid to realize that Cersei's a crazy bitch who's gonna be another Aerys.
Love blinds the smartest of people, and he's beginning to realise, with the look he gave Cersei after she blew up the sept, his reaction to her letting the maid see them, and the advice Olenna gave him. He was clearly doubting himself and only flimsily trying to justify it with the last one.

>Yeah, he was sure empathetic when going to King's Landing and looking stoic at all those burnt bodies at the remains of the Sept of Baelor.
He looked incredulous.

>I already mentioned he was a kinslayer, and a rapist in season 4
He feels regret for the kinslaying and had to do it to escape, and the "rape scene" wasn't intended to be rape, more dubcon than anything.

>already part of the royal family

I don't think she did, she mentions that he was always fucking whores and when he tried to get it on with her he whispered "Lyanna" into her ear, so she got mad and refused. Book Jaime has always dreamed of being knightly, but it's digressed that everyone thought of him as an unbearable piece of shit for having slain Aerys, and he pretty much decided it would be easier to play into those stereotypes about him than try to reform his image. Everyone he hoped would one day respect him, Barristan, Arthur Dayne, etc... had disavowed him and he saw no chance of redemption.

Absolutely. King Jaime is the best thing Westeros can hope for. Maybe with Tyrion as hand, but there's other good advisors out there too. The throne should be Jaime's though, that much is certain. Because instead of Margaery being a queen-consort, they had Cersei, a queen-regent. In fact, since Joffrey, Cersei was one.

Ned slew kingsgaurds who stood by their oath and felt guilty/shitty as fuck about it seeing Jaime, the one who broke his oath, alive and fine and on the throne, broke him in a small way.

Ned let his respect for the men he killed cloud his judgement. He had to tell himself those men died well and honorably and ther was nothing wrong with that, and therefore honor matters more than life. Jaime is a living challenge to that notion.

WOAH SO EDGY! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

>>86135240
He was kingsguard to keep him safe from any real risk, daddy assured that.

He had experience with a sword and plenty training, but at that point Ned was on another level to Jaime, he was at war, cutting down much better men than babby Jaime Lannister.

Power levels can change over time.

>They called him the Lion of Lannister to his face and whispered "Kingslayer" behind his back. Jon found it hard to look away from him. "This is what a king should look like", he thought to himself as he passed.
Even Jon knew Jaime was /ourguy/.
>>
>>86135504
Nobody ever talked about Ned as some legendary swordsman. He was competent and well-tempered in battle. No evidence he could match Jaime's skill.
>>
>>86135504
Lol Ned was slightly above average and is only alive because Howland Reed is a swamp jedi

Martell and Darry died at the trident

Selmy was injured and captured at the Trident.

His Kingsguard position was a huge and intentional fuck you to Tywin. Aerys was literally holding Jaime hostage and Tywin knew it. It wasn't a safe position at all.

Tyrone is a shit hand...
>botched Mireen plot until Mary Sue came back. Loses Selmey in the ensuing fuckery
>his Westeros strategy cost Kelly C most of her ships and put The Unsullied almost completely out of commission. Has no backup plan to get Dorne forces after losing the Sand whores

That's the weird part, by all fantasy logic this should have been the part where Jaime was proclaimed a hero and given a fucking parade+a cute princess.

Euron unsheathing his katana was fucking ridiculous though. Managing to sneak up on them on a clear day? Bollocks.

And that's why it didn't happen. In the real world, people tend to condemn those who rebel against evil orders. Westeros also isn't a meritocracy, so Jaime's "betrayal" was even worse, because by their rules, he had no right to judge his divine king.
>>
>>86136025
But Robert did? The point of the entire series is hypocrisy and shades of gray.
>>
Book Jaime is one of the best characters in Game of Thrones and the show followed it fairly well till he came back to Kings Landing after losing a hand.

>loses hand
>trains with Payne to try and be a better swordsman
>tells Payne secrets cause Payne can't talk
>isn't good with sword and starts to question himself
>only has been with Cersei and starts to wonder why
>still wants to keep his oath to Kat
>frees his brother but they part of bad terms
>Tyrion tells him Cersei sleeps with guys behind his back
>hates the idea of this being true even though he cares less about Cersei
>sent to settle the last of the rebellion in the Riverlands
>still a cocky asshole even though he's sit with a sword
>makes peace without fighting with his his previous reputation
>burns Cercei'so letter for help

He even knows that killing the Mad King was the right thing to do and that people wouldn't belive him if he told the truth anyways.
>>
>>86135761
>>hated Jaime at the beginning
Other than cucking the king and pushing Bran, Jaime was a pretty noble dude since the begining.
>>
>>86136120
>Jaime was a pretty noble dude
Are you retarded? Why do your parents allow you anywhere near the computer? He belittled everyone he came across. They fucking made a point of showing this in the goddamn show, you retarded cocksucker. I fucking hate you.

Not him, but she's portrayed rather sympathetically at the beginning.
>13 year old kid whose only constant companion is her crazy brother
>only wishes to live in peace and have a good home
>sold to savage horse fuckers
>still tries to treat people well
>survives shitty circumstances
It's a classic hero underdog story. Her villainous traits come to light gradually, as does the realization that her rule is a disaster for everyone involved.
>>
>>86136318
>Not him, but she's portrayed rather sympathetically at the beginning.
That's sort of true, but her episodes (and chapters) were always boring as fuck.
>>
>>86136099
Objectively, you're right. But as far as the Westerosi society was concerned, Robert had a legitimate grievance in that Rhaegar had kidnapped his fiancee and Aerys refused to do anything about it. Kidnapping some lord's woman was a big deal during feudalism, but being a really shitty person wasn't.
>>
Jaime is better suited as a support character than an outright leader. His aunt Genna was spot on with this comment:

>You smile like Gerion and fight like Tyg, and there’s some of Kevan in you, else you would not wear that cloak

Gerion was a likable dude amongst Tywin's brothers and openly mocked how Tywin tried to grasp for power. Tygett was the 3rd son and a fierce fighter, but always lived in Tywin's shadow. Kevan was just as skilled as Tywin, but lacked the initiative and drive that his elder brother showed. Jaime shows all 3 of his uncles' traits; he's not the sort of guy that would greenlight the Red Wedding, but more like the sort of guy that people will give pause and not underestimate.

Jaime would be a good Hand when he's in his 50's. By then, the rashness in his blood would've cooled and he would've gained immense experience throughout the years.

Jaime is like the Gohan of ASOIAF to me. Both had so much potential, but it got nerfed because of poor decisions on their part. If Jaime hadn't submitted to incest with Cersei and actually grew a backbone (like not acquiesce to Tywin's lie about Tysha being a whore), he could've gone places. Young Jaime was a great combatant and idealistic. He idolized his hero Ser Arthur Dayne and during Robert's Rebellion, he eagerly wanted to test his prowess but was denied because Aerys wanted him as a hostage.

Even now, Jaime still has the makings of a great man. At least in the books. He's freed himself of Cersei's toxic influence and is on the path of his redemption. Out of all the characters in ASOIAF, he's the one whose had the most character development and introspection in my opinion. He went from being an entitled douchewad who threw a kid off a window to one of the best guys that Westeros has left.

There are only 2 ways for Jaime's story to end; to die in glorious battle against the Others and Wights or a long life of service to the realm as befits a man of his caliber.

originally grrm wanted the books only to be 3 book long, with jaime the BBEG in it, who stoles the throne

and it was written like that in the book

he was sitting the throne the lannister soldiers around him

than come ned, and poured in the starks, and there were more starks than lannisters, so jaime laughed and get up from the throne

Implying he would need to do any of that when euron should be making sure the dothraki never leave the island
Implying you could land a horde of dothraki and it not be noticed

>>86136461
Actually, Aerys was the one who initiated hostilities. After Aerys executed Rickard and Brandon Stark, he ordered Jon Arryn to kill his foster sons. Neither Robert nor Ned initiated any action against the Iron Throne until Aerys went full retard.

Jon Arryn refused Aerys and mobilized his bannermen, thus triggering Robert's Rebellion. And Robert didn't even declare himself to be king until before the Battle of the Trident. So he wasn't out to overthrow Aerys from the throne, it was a war for survival for Robert and Ned.

>Tywin's lie about Tysha being a whore
But she was tho
>>
>>86103410
I really hope Jaime gets an honorable death.
>>
>>86136804
No she wasn't. Jaime even admitted it to Tyrion.

>“Tysha?” His stomach tightened. “What of her?”
>“She was no whore. I never bought her for you. That was a lie that Father commanded me to tell. Tysha was . . . she was what she seemed to be. A crofter’s daughter, chance met on the road.”
>Tyrion could hear the faint sound of his own breath whistling hollowly through the scar of his nose. Jaime could not meet his eyes. Tysha. He tried to remember what she had looked like. A girl, she was only a girl, no older than Sansa. “My wife,” he croaked. “She wed me.”
>“For your gold, Father said. She was lowborn, you were a Lannister of Casterly Rock. All she wanted was the gold, which made her no different from a whore, so . . . so it would not be a lie, not truly, and . . . he said that you required a sharp lesson. That you would learn from it, and thank me later . . .

It pisses me off that the show completely dropped the Tysha plotline and never had Jaime confess to Tyrion about the lie. D&D have no sense of dramatic build-up anymore and whitewashes the fuck out of anyone that they deem popular amongst fans.

>>86136558
Several characters note that Jaime never wanted power (unlike most powerful lords in Westeros), so yeah, Genna's comment about him resembling Kevan in some respects is accurate. The Tywin-Kevan relationship was really interesting as well. Even as a child Tywin showed himself as a remarkably driven and intelligent person, so his brothers got insecure and butthurt. Meanwhile, Kevan just took a good look at him and went "damn, he's good" and figured they should work together. So many things could have gone wrong there, yet their cordial and trusting relationship lasted until Tywin's death.

The Lannisters are secretly the most interesting family among the Great Houses. They have the best bantz too.
>>
>>86137138
It's fascinating how a useless retard like Tytos was able to produce 4 sons and a daughter; all of whom with ability and strength of personality.
>>
>>86136764
Sure, but the Targs were considered to be borderline demigods, so they could get away with a lot of shit. Many people also credited the country's prosperity during Aerys' reign to Aerys, even though the real architect of that prosperity was Tywin.

>Implying he wasn't the only one who cared and did something about Cat taking Tyrion prisoner
>Implying he didn't ask Robb to resolve the war just between the two of them so innocent men didn't have to die
He was a coky bastard, but he always stood by his family, even when it was against his own best interests, and never gave a fuck if he was perceived as honorable or not for doing so. That's pretty noble.
>>
>>86137289
>so they could get away with a lot of shit
There's a difference between killing some petty lord like the retard at Duskendale and a fucking Lord Paramount and his heir. Especially the Starks who have shown themselves to be incredibly loyal to the Targaryen cause like Cregan Stark's heir being killed in the Conquest of Dorne or how they rallied behind Queen Rhaneyra.

Once Aerys burnt Rickard into ashes and had Brandon strangled, just how the fuck is the Iron Throne supposed to retain control of the North? Especially if they have no dragons.

In some ways, I really wished Aerys hadn't gone full retard and ordered the heads of Ned and Robert because once Rhaegar and Lyanna come out of hiding, the aftermath would be glorious to see. The North would view Lyanna as a stupid slut that got her father and brother killed and would reject any half-dragon spawn of hers. Ned would be forced to disown his sister because his bannermen would be pissed as fuck. Robert wouldn't go to war because Jon Arryn would be there to calm him down, but now the Targs lost the support of the Baratheons, ANOTHER of their Lord Parmounts that supported them for years (especially in the Blackfyre Rebellions).

Don't forget the Martells. They were pissed that Rhaegar insulted Elia's honor as his wife when he presented the Crown for Love and Beauty to Lyanna. They might go independent again and there's nothing Rhaegar can do to patch it up.
>>
>>86137565
>Implying Jaime wasn't willing to sacrifice his morality to save his family
He was upholding his vows, not sacrificing his morality
>>
He'd make a better king than Dany, that's for sure.

I think Jon would be a better king though.
>>
>>86138602
Jon isn't cut out for being king. Lord Commander or being a steward to a Great Lord would suit him fine, but Jon isn't the type that wants kingship.

If anything, he'd be lord over the wildlings if the Others do get defeated and peace comes to Westeros. He'd be the bridge between the Free Folk and the rest of Westeros in having them become civilized (within their own framework and culture).
>>
>>86138602
Most people would make better kings than Dany. Her genes alone should disqualify her from ruling anything.
