STAR TREK LAS VEGAS HIGHLIGHTS: AUTISTIC TRIPFAG EDITION

+Nana Visitor a cute
+We went to an empty Indian buffet and were seated across the room from Gates McFadden and eavesdropped on her entire conversation about why her photo ops are the cheapest out of the whole TNG cast
+Talked to Ira Steven Behr about working with David Lynch and Twin Peaks S2. Ep 8 was kino.
+Braga apologized for Threshold
+Terry Farrell hugged me
+Sirtis might have been drunk during the TNG Panel and told a story about how she asked for more money to do Insurrection and the producers said no we will just replace you with Jeri Ryan then

-tfw no Siddig bf
-Frakes also cancelled fucking people out of an $800 photo op with the entire TNG cast
-Vegas is like Ferenginar but like if Ferenginar was also sticky
-Almost anyone who asked a question was Chris-chan levels of autistic and the Q&A was cringe. Some woman got up and told the cast she named her kid after Patrick Stewart and James T Kirk and Sirtis straight up said to her "why would you do that to your child"
-No DS9 Blu Rays probably ever. I talked to the editor for the DS9 Doc they are doing and the negatives they got don't include all the CGI which was done by another company in low def format for TV

so why are they cheapest?

it can't be because she was playing wesley's mother, because by that logic wil wheaton's would be the cheapest, as they should.

Wheaton wasn't there. I think McFadden and Sirtis were the cheapest at like $40 or some shit. Patrick Stewart was $150.

I don't know if it's because they aren't as important characters as the male characters or if it's Hollywood bias against women. Jeri Ryan wasn't there and I would have laughed if she was more expensive than Mulgrew.

>What the fuck happened to her

2015:

>Star Trek Voyager star Jennifer Lien was completely naked when police arrived at her house to arrest her.

>The actress, who played Kes in the spin-off series, was arrested after allegedly exposing herself to three children under 13 two weeks ago. Upon the police's arrival Jennifer reportedly refused to put her clothes on and had to be carried to the police car after threatening to kill the officers, according to US website TMZ. She was later charged with indecent exposure. The 41-year-old has been in jail since her arrest on September 3rd and her bond is set at $2,500.

>Jennifer was at her Tennessee home when she began arguing with her neighbour Carey Smith. According to Smith, who made a complaint to the police, Jennifer launched into a rant over one of her crying children. She claims she then started swearing before lifting her shirt up to expose herself in full view of her children.

>She told CNN affiliate WATE: "She started flashing and, 'Woo hoo,' and I said, 'And what respect is that for kids? There was none. And then she turned around and dropped her pants.”

>This isn't Jennifer's first run in with the law - back in April she was she was arrested and charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

What's the quick guide to getting into Star Trek? I've watched bits and pieces here and there when it's been on TV and I've liked some of it. Some of it was with Picard, I know, but then I think there was also another which I'm not even sure is Star Trek. I remember it had some "warrior" aliens being really annoyed with another alien race which I think came from the same planet which were kind of like Jews.

I'm 28 and TNG was THE star trek to me. It had completed its run about the time I was old enough to really enjoy it, so there were always reruns of it to watch even on local tv networks. I'd see probably 5 episodes of TNG for every episode of ds9 or voyager I'd catch. There's also the fact that TNG's crew were the only characters to really exist beyond their show's run, giving them extra visibility and attachment to the fans.

Ignore the episode skip guides, they are for people who don't actually want to watch.
>>
>>86103557
No because that is where the prohibitive cost comes from. It was shot on film so that's easy to pump out to bluray, it's the cg needing to be redone that means we won't ever get them.

It's a real shame because a guy on youtube redid the cg for one small battle scene and it looked stunning. There's a webm of it.
>>

If it makes you feel better, she's only stuck alone in that particular universe.

Just a thought about time travel:
I think it's better to think of the Kelvinverse more akin to the Mirror Universe than an alternate timeline created by angry Romulans. Like how the Defiant (The constitution one) fell through a time portal and ended up in the past mirrorverse, Nero and the Narada fell through into their universe and was too displaced in time.
What I'm trying to get at is we don't really think of the Defiant being pulled over as an altering of the past, so we should consider the Kelvin universe less like "time travel fucked up the past" and more like "time travel from the prime universe plays an integral role in this universe's history," because it's quite literally not the prime universe's past. It's some other poor sod's universe.
Also, because of how time travel works, I totally buy the "ripples forwards and backwards in time" bullshit because, consider, that whole 3rd season arc in Enterprise was the Sphere Builders predicting their defeat in the future so influencing the past to prevent it. What if in the Kelvinverse, because Starfleet is apparently more advanced and militarily capable or whatever, their predicted defeat is more crushing. So, their measures taken in the Enterprise era are more extreme, and so when krall goes on about the "Xindi and Romulan Wars," maybe he actually does mean in that universe they fought a full scale war with the Xindi.

I hate this so much. The internet chimps out about something I was pleased with, so the studio assumed the outrage is universal and change things for the worse. It's the same with the costume for the new Tick, which was going to be this more organic looking suit that I was thought was pretty interesting. But a bunch of fans complained because it was different from "muh Patrick Warburton Tick." So now they've changed it to look like that cheap, rubber looking suit from the older series. Nerd anger is ruining all my favorite franchises.

Great acting on Patrick Stewart's part. Not that Doc Crusher is a dummy, but Picard is such a philosopher, it's masterful watching his face as he realizes he can't even imagine the how and why of the act in question, let alone judge it.

He's not even angry or disgusted, just recognizes what he's dealing with and knows it's time to walk.

They actually addressed this in Star Trek Online. After the real Kim was killed by falling out of the ship his dead body floated in space until it was found by the Kobali...and he was reanimated as one of them not realizing what had happened and trying desperately to contact Voyager to come rescue him decades later.

Kobali space is tens of thousands of light years away from Kim's corpse.

Fuck you, STO.
>>
>>86114473

STO is always tying up random loose ends and expanding one-off alien races though. it *might* be helping explain nu-Klingons, since the Hurq are going to show up at some point (probably next year) and if their ships look anything like the sarcophagus ship, case closed.

fucking hated that mission though.
>>

Never forget, cadet, although your phaser has many settings, up to and including disintegrate, you are forbidden from setting it any higher than 3 shots to kill a rat.

STO was born pre-self-fucked.

First contact was summer of 1996. Worf joins DS9 in way of the warrior, fall of 1995. Insurrection is the weird one since it happens during the end of the dominion war and you think the enterprise would have more pressing duties in war time then sending their chief of operations on a dipshit anthropological mission.

I was watching Star Trek: Insurrection again recently and it occurred to me that one of the reasons Picard decides not to stay on Ba'ku is because he thinks he is not mature enough yet to become part of their society. He would enjoy it at first, but would probably rebel just like the Son'a and end up causing harm. I don't think he was truly serious about his idea of coming back in retirement.

>Essentially, they were both still alive in Tuvix, but the opposite cannot be said. Tuvix did not live on in them when separated.

Never looked at the Tuvix debate before in this manner.

Tuvix is like an emergent being from two people. The sum of the parts do not equal the whole.

Been rewatching DS9 lately and I've gotta say, after another watch of it....

Let He Who Is Without Sin does not get enough shit for being so fucking horrible.

The mighty fucking Worf being a jealous and controlling retard because he killed a kid when he played soccer is JUST horrendous writing. It's almost as bad as Profit and Lace
>>
>>86123682
Let He Who Is Without Sin is in there with Playing God as one of the worst of the entire DS9 franchise.
First two seasons but I think that one never comes up because it's got Terri Farrell and Chase Masterson in a bikini.
