Really? I thought Archie was one of the weaker characters in the show honestly, Jughead has way more of an arc with Betty than Archie's "Oh I can't decide between football and music but I guess I'll do music but I dunno I'm just so indecisive I don't know what to do also I have some arc with my hot teacher for some reason and that goes away after like 3 episodes"

Archie doesn't really even do anything relating to the overarching murder plot until he goes to investigate Jughead's dad, Betty and Jughead did all the actual investigative work leading up to that

Betty "1488" Cooper was the main character. She had the most screen time and better storyline.

Honestly Valerie is so ugly compared to the guy who plays Archie that it's actually really good for the show because it makes it look like Archie is just a big hearted guy who looks at her personality instead of her face.

Their characterization of Archie is actually surprisingly good. They made a really good teen-angst version of a guy who's generallygood-hearted and trying to do the right thing but fucks up because he can be a bumbling idiot sometimes and can be hotheaded.
