I've seen them all countless times, grew up watching the marathons every year. With that said... the answer is Goldeneye followed by Casino Royale. Funny how the 2 best bond movies of all time are both reboots directed by the same man.

Either From Russia with Love because it's actually a very solid and entertaining espionage movie that probably would still be considered a great film even if the main character wasn't Bond.

Or On Her Majesty's Secret Service for being the most emotionally resonant Bond movie with Lazenby being perfect for a more vulnerable and sensitive Bond that Connery would've looked laughable trying to pull off. The action scenes are fantastic for the time too.

The Patrician's choice
>>
>>85978919
>For Your Eyes Only over The Spy Who Loved Me

There's nothing bad about FYEO but it's ultimately so forgettable. They went too far in trying to dial down the camp after Moonraker that there's really nothing remarkable about the movie. The only thing I can tell you about the bad guy in it is that he's played by the bad guy in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Scratch that, it does have what is Moore's most coldblooded kill in it so it is memorable in that regard, I guess.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Best Story, Best Score, Best Direction, Best Bond Girl, Best Bond Villain. Best fucking ending. And Best Fucking Bond. Not even kidding. Lazenby was a mad man who carried a live gun around with him on set. Was doing coke and getting wrecked at every opportunity. He fucked his way through the set, pissing off Diana Rigg and every other faggot in the process. He then grew a massive fucking beard and told the producers to take their 3 pictures deal and shove it up their ass. Connery was just a massive prick and Moore was too nice to play Bond. Dalton is a gay stage actor and Brosnan is a cheesy day time tv actor. Craig is a giant potato faced cunt. Only Lazenby was ever good as Bond. All the Bond movies suck apart from On Her Majesty's Secret Service. There.

licence to kill.jpg
196KB, 982x1500px
I sat down and watched Licence to Kill the other day, had never watched either of the Dalton movies. I was surprised, its actually really good. They changed up the formula considerably, and it feels more like a revenge movie than a standard Bond movie, Bond is a lot meaner and more violent in it as well. They also made the bad guy a Noriega like central american drug lord, so it actually feels a fair bit more believable than your standard Bond villain which can get a bit far fetched at times. The set up is that on Felix Lighter's wedding day he and Bond help capture the bad guy who is then able to escape by bribing corrupt DEA and USCG officers. He then proceeds to have his goons rape and kill Felix's new wife, and feeds Felix to a shark (though makes sure he survives after his legs are eaten). Bond is convinced that the Americans are incapable of recapturing him so he takes a leave from MI6 to do it himself, along with some unofficial help from Q and an ex army pilot for a bond girl.

Definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it.
>>
>>85979434
yeah but that one is not considered an offical Bond and is never counted or included so I sort of gave it a pass

>>

Sorry but Licence to Kill is like a watered down Lethal Weapon style late 80s movie, but done badly and with a really wooden actor playing Bond.
>>
>>85979473
Licence to Kill is a great concept with just an alright execution. The whole thing feels looks and feels really cheap like a TV-movie.

Not quite, but Tom Jones sure can belt out a tune. The movie itself is a bit of a let down, but its certainly not without merit and is one of the better Bond movies.

So what Bond films do you consider the worst?

A view to a kill
Die another day
Quantum of solace (not bad per se but the editing is atrocious)
Spectre? (also not bad, shot very competently but so boring)
>>
My personal favourites are probably Goldeneye, Casino Royale and Live and Let Die. Goldeneye because muh 90s nostalgia, but also that was a good plot, solid villain. Casino Royale was also a good plot, muh edgy anti-hero, but mainly the last two Brosnan ones SUCKED. Tomorrow Never Dies was passable (not great by any means), but the last two were absolute shit, so at the time Casino Royale was a great reboot. Live and Let Die I liked as a kid. So probably some nostalgia, but good story, good villain (Baron Samedi, voodoo shit, eery laughing on train), I thought Solitaire was hot as fuck. Plus blacks are portrayed hilariously at the start. Pimpmobile and everything
>>
>>85975294
goldfinger

the soundtrack
>>
Brosnan is underrated. He had the perfect balance of suave, keks and physicality.
>>
>>85980110
Any of the Craig ones. They're just bland and don't feel Bond. They feel like every other bland action movie.
>>
>>85979295
That was pretty funny I don't know how I missed it.
>>
>>85980211
I agree

it's a shame he got some bad scripts with his films
>>
>>85980110
I actually liked Spectre. View to a Kill is pretty bad tho, agreed. And so is Never Say Never Again, tho that's technically not a Broccoli produced film
>>
>>85980110
Without QUESTION The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day are the worst.
>>
>>85980110
Worst? Easy. A View to a Kill, Die Another Day, Octopussy, Never Say Never Again. Quantum is patchy but has some great stuff in it. Spectre is bloated and stupid but not terrible.
>>
>>85980288
>the world is not enough

dunno why but one of the shots from the climax when he jumps into the water for the submarine really stuck with me
>>
>>85980283
>I actually liked Spectre
I liked the first 10 minutes of it, but then they're never able to do anything as good as the opening.

Live and Let Die has a great theme

although the way he dispaches the villain is laughable

also Whisper is the best henchman

This is what ruined the Man with the Golden Gun for me. That is a good one too, but after the shot at the boxing match (which was awesome), how he went out just left a sour taste in my mouth.

>>
>>85980214
I don't know how you can say that about Casino Royale (im not big on the other ones though). The franchise was in desperate need of a reboot after the tirefires of the last two Brosnan movies. So the context is important. Also, Craig's bond is the first who was not a Royal Navy vet but an SAS vet, so they needed a more built Bond than Brosnan, which I think was a good direction.
>>
>>85975294
Sean Connery was the best bond but I also love Roger Moore.

My fav SC one would be Dr. No (the first is always the best, right?)

My fav RM one would be The Man With the Golden Gun (the racist cop from usa was hilarious)
>>
>>85980110
A View To A Kill is one of the top five, you virgin.
>>
>>85975294
On Her Majesty's Secret Service. None really compare given its unique take on the plot (From Russia With Love is the only other film that isn't overly predictable). they make games of a lot of shitty movies, that means nothing

Goldeneye was good with the twist at the end with 006 being alive and the bad guy

but Casino Royale (2006) is the best Bond film to date. Bond actually gets in a relationship and develops feelings, the action was good and realistic too

Goldfinger has only one good scene and that's when the villain says to Bond that he expects him to die. And then he doesn't kill him.

Then again Bond does fuck a lesbian straight in it, so it's not all bad.

>>85975294
From Russia With Love is my favorite in the series.

It's a great old fashioned cold war era spy movie. While it's serious, it still has some levity in it. Also, it was a huge step up from Dr. No, which is one of the worst aged Bond flicks.
