Idk i feel like Goodfellas is the MAIN gangster movie ever, the Godfather feels different. It's still with mafia but it ain't about their crimes, feels more like it's about their family. I mean the most memorable parts of the movie for me were the family interactions: the wedding at start, the domestic violence, the family eating together, young Corleone's life, marriage and especially his death while playing with his grandkid.

The "business" parts of the G1 and G2 were fine too, just not as interesting to me. But Goodfellas is doing both of those parts perfectly which is why i consider it superior - perfect balance of family and business and what goes on behind them.

The entire Godfather series is about the journey of Michael, from War-hero to ruthless Mob boss. In the end he loses everything and dies alone.

Henry is an useless low-life drug addict who gets away with everything in Goodfellas.

Michael is more interesting character.

Because anyone and their mother would put on Goodfellas if all these movies came on simultaniously and you had to choose one.

Goodfellas is a perfect movie.
If I ever catch it on TV, no matter how far through it is, I have to watch until the end.

Godfather 1/2 are great too, but just not in the same way.
