The new breed also sucks. Other than Guardians, no one actually cares about Dr. Strange or Ant-Man. Black Panther has a shot, but in general, "New Avengers" will only work if the old Avengers are there too.

Screen cap it if you want, if they try to in universe replace or move on without Evans, RDJ, or Hemsworth, it all crumbles. Forget $500 million box offices. Better settle for $60-80

Winter Soldier caught on and even as a 'good guy' I think people prefer him to be kind of the "bad Captain America" who is not so morally black and white.

I personally think Dr. Strange is a cool character, but I did not love the movie. They ruined Dormamu. Ant-Man is probably the worst of the MCU movies.

I would dig more expanded universe stuff, I would totally be down with Moon Knight, Punisher, stuff like that.

I do think that if MCU loses the big 3, they are going to at least temporarily lose the ability to make profitable $250million movies. They'd have to kind of soft reboot with smaller films again and they'd be hampered by the memories of what came before.

I think Marvel has to suck it up and try to buy big contracts from RDJ, Hemsworth, and Evans again.

To cover this you first have to understand that there's the Good Sentry - the one from the original miniseries and then there's the Bad Sentry - the one bendis ruined.

Originally the Sentry is set up as this forgotten hero from the 60s who interacted with all the main marvel heroes from back then and was good friends with all of them (FF, Spidey, Hulk, Strange, etc.). We're first introduced to him as a balding, overweight, mentally unstable, middle aged man but it turns out all the paranoid delusions he suffers from every so often are actually real. He was always a superhero but the whole world has forgotten who 'The Sentry' was and nobody recognises him or his previous achievements. The beginning narrative is about this mystery, why has everyone forgotten who he is and who even is he? In the context of the comic when it was first published there was a metatextual angle here where Marvel was pretending that this was a never published comic from the 60s that they'd found in their archives. As a result the comic has rapid art shifts between a modern (early 2000's) art style with this confused guy wandering around marvel new york and meeting superheroes who are like "who the fuck are you?" and period pages ostensibly taken from the "original comic" way back when. Over the run of the comic you find out about who he was and why everyone's forgotten him, at the end the idea of 'The Sentry' is returned to the resting place it started at.

It was a cool idea that only really worked as its own bit of continuity - a bubble inside the wider bubble of the marvel universe. A stand alone 'The Sentry: A Marvel Cinematic Universe Story' could be GOAT but I don't know if the MCU can actually pull off such a story because it's quite cerebral, doesn't have much of a happy ending and deals with some more real human concepts which we haven't seem from them at all so far.

Lots of people see Infinity War as a jumping off point for the MarvelVerse. Everything so far has been building up to Infinity War with Thanos being the ultimate villain.
