You have to count the calories. I'm 6'2 and I went from 235 to 205 in a few months because I finally started really keeping track of how many calories I was eating.

Count calories, overcount if in doubt (If you have a sauce that you think its around 50-100 calories just put 150 instead) same with foods that have a lot of ingredients.
Eat 2000 per day, weigh yourself now and in 2 weeks and see if you lost anything.
If not, lower to 1800 and do the same.
If after another 2 weeks theres no loss in fat, start doing very light cardio for 30m-1hour a day alongside. By very light I mean just walk.
Also keep your monosaturated fat at around 0.40-0.45g per lb. It boosts testosterone production, your metabolism and makes you fill fuller. I personally just drink olive oil without anything else but you could put it in a salad as well.
Maybe after you start losing weight you can also sign up for a gym. Up protein intake to 0.5g per lb and calories to 2000 until you lost all the weight you need to lose. After that start a bulk at 2500-2800 and see how it goes.

A kitchen scale is very good indeed, you can also keep track of calories in a plain txt file, or onenote, or an app. It's also preferable to eat mainly unprocessed foods due to the ease of counting their calories. Its easier to count the calories of 100g chicken breast and 100g rice than to count the calories of a pizza that has a ton of ingredients.
