I watched the 2017 version with my mildly SJW girlfriend and on the way home she was shocked when I said "he had it coming" and actually took his side. Blew my mind desu.

He was more in the right in the original version. In the original version the woman are more messed up when you find out their backstory. He still mess up by trying to tear them apart though.
