This movie was fucking great, why did they stop using Timothy Dalton as Bond?

because they wanted brosnan for years, to the point that he was within hours being named bond before nbc threw a sack of money at him to keep doing remington steele

Because they are dumb shits, also living daylights was cash senpai

Because he was too serious for normies, god forbid James Bond show an ounce of depth and pathos instead of being a quip machine. I don't hate Brosnan as Bond though, his performance was just less nuanced.

Daltons third one got delayed because some frenchie got into a rights struggle with eon. Some dude also wanted Dalton out but Broccoli stood by him as bond. When goldeneye was getting made Dalton stepped down and brosnan came in.

living daylights > licence to kill

Brosnan was great though. Dalton should have signed on years earlier when the offer was on the table.

>Broccoli stated he did not want Bond to be identified with a current TV series, and instead gave the role to Timothy Dalton
I wonder if a similar reason is keeping them from using Henry Cavill as Bond?

>Because he was too serious for normies
This, goof ball moore had established bond as a quick gunning quipper so naturally dalton was rejected despite bringing it back closer to the source material which naturally 95% have never read.

It's literally because he's Superman right now. The Man From UNCLE was his response to it.
