This show went to complete shit when they switched to HD

Nah there's still plenty of good episodes, grading its quality is hard and pointless I thinks. Nothing compares to the solid first couple of seasons and they had their joke dialogue dynamic down perfectly. Then the show is mostly in limbo with a melange of poor story choices inconsistent pace of jokes but still with plenty enough to set the show above the rest.

2002 they did both. Same with Friends. Only that later on Friends got a full series re-transfer to widescreen and HD like Seinfeld, but Frasier still only exists in syndication/streaming in grainy 4:3 SD copies while the last two seasons are widescreen but still SD (with fake HD upscales available on some places like iTunes)
