Thats the sequels in a nutshell. I know several people all talking about some sorta payoff for all the setups in TFA

Exactly.
I just don't see this going anywhere because that is how Disney make their movies.
You cannot conclude anything because that means writing out potential sequels for things that might sell well.

TFA does a halfassed setup for Episode 8/9
Episode 9 will of course be a halfassed conclusion for the sequel trilogy with it setting up the next trilogy while concluding the current one.
