When will the capeshit curtain fall?
I say 2030.
2030 seems reasonable but most idiots here will say tomorrow

>dumb blockbuster film trends lasts for over 20 years
Tomorrow
>Manchildren will literally line up to watch Spider-fuck even though the franchise has been rebooted 2 fucking times already in the past 2 decades
Pathetic
There's always a fresh supply of dumb teenagers to market them to and 30-somethings with money and nostalgia and no creativity. They can literally keep doing this forever.
Cannot wait until it's gone, then there will be more transformers movies and independence day sequels.
sony (spider-man), fox (x-men, F4, deadpool), and warner bros (DC) are all up at the chopping block, in that order.
sony would've been completely fucked if they didn't have an out on the ASM series by aligning with Marvel Studios. Venom and their dumb Black Cat movie are both likely to bomb.
fox has deadpool going strong, and logan did well, but hugh jackman's gone and he's the only real star they ever had. They're forging ahead with Dark Phoenix next year despite Apocalypse underperforming. There's also a New Mutants movie sched'd for next year. Neither feels like a sure thing. Deadpool 2 will do well. Apparently they STILL haven't completely given up on F4 and have a Dr. Doom movie in development.
Everything at Warner Bros is riding on Justice League. Before Wonder Woman I would say it looked fucked, but now, dunno. They're building their cinematic universe on toxic ground though.
Paramount and Universal have no capeshit, which is why you're seeing bizarre shit like DARK UNIVERSE come out of them.
Disney is sadly unstoppable.
I give capeshit at every shingle but Disney a maximum of 5 years.
