He should have been the primary protagonist in the prequels. As interesting a character as Qui Gon was, what did he bring to the prequels? Throughout the the original trilogy we heard Obi Wan refer to Yoda as his master. Episode 1 should have opened with jedi master Obi Wan and his young adult apprentice Anakin Skywalker investigating trouble on Alderaan, not Naboo. When we watch 'Hope' we should view the scene of Alderaan's destruction with new eyes. It would also serve to set up why Leia was left to grow up on Alderaan instead of a single throw away line from Jimmy Smitts about "always wanting a girl."

That's the great failure of the prequels...to properly inform on the original trilogy.

It was really important for JJ to stick as close to the ANH formula as possible because he's a fucking hack. It's also why Han, Luke and Leia's character arcs were completely undone and bastardised for TFA - Abrams and Disney aren't clever enough to imagine Han Solo as anything other than a smuggler. It's a bit odd though, a couple months after the films release I posted a thread for casual discussion. I thought the film was crap, but no big deal. I made the thread to discuss with the people that liked it, and to talk about the positive aspects of it. It wasn't a big deal.

Fast forward to 2017, saying anything positive about star was material produced after disney and you'll be fucking castrated. I'm not really complaining though, I can understand the hate for this. If I could discontinue any franchise would pick star wars 100%. Just stop.

Xizor's Black Sun funds the remnants of the Empire. Snoke isn't a fucking reincarnated tree and has his own army, he's wealthy and funds it himself. Then you have the new Rebellion. Keep Kylo as a fallen Solo who learns to use the dark side under Snoke. Daughter Solo is with Han, Leia and Luke, who learns to use the force under Luke's new academy. Have Han die with the Falcon then go from there.

Three interesting views of the story and two/three good villains.
