He is a remix-artist whose work is often interpreted as great and groundbreaking by people who are unaware of the original source materials. Just search up even his 10 or 20 favorite films and watch them, there are elements or scenes that he directly lifts from these films and inserts into his own. Sure, other filmmakers like Scorsese do this as well but in the case of Scorsese it can be interpreted more as a tribute, whereas in Tarantino's case its verging towards plagiarism, and his intention seems to be that no one finds out where he stole from.
That being said, I do like his movies, I just think they feel quite cheap when you realize the extent that he directly lifted from other films.
