Sam (and the other two) improvises straight into the camera. this involves lots of repetition and slight variations on an idea.

rather than editing away the variations and leaving the one best version, they leave the entire process mostly intact.

I didn't like this at first, but once you get accustomed to it, it's thrilling to watch them figure out a funny phrase in front of you.
