Nostalgia.
No, not a mcu-fag, the new films are shit.
It's not a masterpiece, don't pretend it is. It's just average fun at best.
I'd say it's a movie, rather than film or kino. Not quite flick level.

cool suit, cool villain, hot girls, it's not formulaic or over the top like all the superhero movies are now. new york is a cool setting.

I watched it for the first time recently since I never saw any of them as a kid and it was actually bad, I have no idea why you all insist that it's amazing. It's capeshit, not even tolerable capeshit either
Fuck you all for memeing me into watching this garbage
>inb4 pleb it's amazing

Wrong. I'm not op by the way. But I saw Spiderman 2 again just last year in a detox facility and it stands the test of time. Definitely one of the best superhero movies ever made. I never read comics as a kid and am not a cape fag.
because its about life
It's overrated as fuck, but I do have to admit that watching Homecoming made me appreciate Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies a lot more. I really don't why, but I don't like Homecoming.

It might be a simply, cheesy answer, but Raimi's Spideykinos had heart. Even though you probably only remember the action scenes, and the soundtrack, and the meme moments since those are what resonated with you as a kid, the supporting cast were extremely well-rounded and actually had a purpose to the story. The villains were extremely tragic, humanized characters despite their ridiculous capeshit gimmicks. But most importantly of all, they were self-contained enough to hold up by their own merits without needlessly advertising anything extra.
Raimi's films will only age better over time compared to Webb's or Disney's Spideyflicks, because they only wanted to further establish sequel hooks or reinforce the novelty of their shared universe bullshit, and made Spider-man himself as toyetic and meme worthy as possible to improve their bottom line. Raimi-man was a fond reminder of a bygone era, before capeshit was commercialized into it's own oversaturated sub-genre of mediocre summer blockbusters.
