Most of those 80s-90s actresses like SW, Michelle Pfeiffer, Angeline Jolie, Glenn Close, and Meryl Streep were honestly never as talented or attractive as studio PR claimed. They got jobs because of being related to some Hollywood bigshot or having politics that the director agreed with, and also Hollywood does tend to hype up actresses beyond what they are simply because the shelf life of them is so short.
