Two things stood out I never noticed looking bad before.
1) Isildur using the ring to disappear when his group gets ambushed.

In the book they almost fight each other until Gandalf shows up. In the movie they fight for about 5 minutes until the orcs show up. Jackson makes Thranduil look like an even bigger bitch than in the book because apparently the whole reason he hates dwarves is because they have his dead wife's necklace in their mountain.

>>85619814
It loops! :o
>>85621664
>dude lets get dozens of my thousand year old precious kin killed by some fifty year old dwarves cus muh necklace lmao
Thranduil was a terrible king and this was a terrible scene. How the fuck could those elves help the dwarves after they'd just seen their friends killed by them. Friends they've known for thousands of years, who could've lived for thousands of years more. There's a reason why elves hold the lives of their own people as incalculably precious and this extra scene basically shat all over that.
Risking and losing their precious lives in combat against unspeakable evils that want to cover the entire world in darkness is one thing. But against some bumfuck mountain jews who just hoard some jewels?
>>85619991
That's actually pretty good...
I suspect a real airplane crash would look kinda surreal up close given the rather extreme physics involved. The only videos I've seen just kinda have the aircraft going "plop", but not very close, and usually obscured by trees.

>>85622874
>"We asked Luma to remake the scene with a 1:3 scale model instead of the scene with the 1:8 they sent us, but due to time constraints, the edit was not ready in time for the release." - Marc Abraham
Generally, with CGI, models are not measured by scale.
>>85616942
I remember in season 4 Rick and Michonne were in a car and the seat belts they had on didnt look quite right
>>85623320
Hollywood used to crash cars like they cost less than the film that captured them, even on low budget television shows. ...Wonder what happened with that? Some sorta liability thing?
>>85623570
Cost of CG has gone down and less risky. Also that was a 1967 Jaguar E-Type and I would be pissed as hell if they managed to find one just to crash it.
>>85618531
Kubrick's the master
>>85616368
>>85623670
They've crashed prettier cars on The Bionic Woman. Granted, they were new at the time, but if I had a nickle for every car they destroyed in movies in the 60's and 70's, I could buy a 1967 Jaguar E-Type.
Crashing models is probably even cheaper, though in this case maybe they couldn't get permission to crash the car in the LA River.
I sometimes wonder if you can go to the sea side and find dig up the car they cliffed in Rebel Without a Cause.
>>85622885
I think they only used a miniature when you see the car drive off the edge from behind. Those cg dirt particle effects they added when the car is tumbling down the hill don't help to sell the effect.
>>85619053
The Isildur bit in the beginning wasn't used in the theatrical film, they touched it up for the extended versions, and yea, it shows. Besides that, FoTR is GOAT. Practical effects, costumes, set pieces, characters, based Boromir, the list goes on
>>85623859
>Granted, they were new at the time,
And that's my whole point. Crash all the modern dime a dozen cars you want but nowadays an E-Type is rare and valuable.

maybe but still, isn't each little window a row of seats? compare those at 0:06 with the car right below it.

In most airplanes the windows don't match exactly to the number of rows of seats, generally there are less windows. It also doesn't exactly match any real design (for obvious reasons) so it could be any size really. There are some very small passenger planes out there.

oh no.... saw this at a prescreening at least 6 months before release... they didn't change a god damn thing. Remarkable. How much money was wasted on this film for it to look this shit dear lord.
>>85617783
I remember seeing this in theaters and thought it looked actually real, funny how that works.
>>85618053
>this is considered good acting
Ah yes I see she learned in the emilia clark school of acting.
>>85621484
This is shot in such a way that it looks like Miles Teller was never even on set.
>>85616368
>>85617762
What's wrong with there? They're not amazing but certainly not distractingly bad.
>>85620113
This, on the other hand...
>>85631738
whaaat? This at least broke even on Box Office?
>>85619814
Would this be possible if you could move fast enough?
>>85631862
The speed required to make it work would shatter the stones at the atomic level.
>>85617321
DELET THIS NOW!!!
>>85618053
What's wrong here?
>>85616657
>>85627397
>>85631714
>>85618053
how fucking fast is this cunt swinging on that rope
>>85631961
Are you in the right place?
>>85618010
The finest adaptation of the Arthurian myth, Malory can go fuck himself
>>85618053
I keep watching this and the cut from looking at slow motion CGI bullet to laying on the ground is just too jarring
>>85618058
what the fuck man
>>85619565
Is the Rock around 6'5"-7"? How tall of an soapbox did diesel have to stand on. Or did they just dig a trench like in the good old days
>>85632064
Rock is 6'5", which when he's standing farther away from the camera makes him look close to the same height as the 6'0" Diesel.
>>85631862
Only if you were light as a feather and your jump had the force of a rocket engine.
Which might actually be the case. He is magic, after all.
>>85618382
fuck you
>>85619814
I'll always remember this. People literally LOLed at the theater when I saw it for the first time.
>>85621484
the zoom in on the soldier who gets friendly fired is just terrible
it makes it more confusing and not clearer it's just bad in every way
>>85623733
>it's racist if we really do this, right?
>>85624706
Is this Vampires Suck
>>85618053
THE BULLET WASN'T EVEN AIMING AT ANYONE. SHE LITERALLY SWUNG RIGHT INTO IT
>>85626208
Lmao there's no way this is real, I would have noticed this shit, this is either an edit or a pre-rendered version
>>85627135
fight me but this unironically looks cool af, it's like medieval capekino
>>85627135
i don't see much of a problem with this, it's clearly meant to look like a ridiculous anime action scene, it's not intended to look realistic
>>85618669
*nods respectfully*
>>85616530
How did I watch the whole thing. How.
>>85630768
That physics defying roll, that black cartoon outline around the smoke - such bad CGI!
Oh.
>>85617321
Which Resident Evil film is this?
>>85626208
lol'd fucking hard
>>85623973
Which Shrek movie is this from?
>>85618053
>795471 mph
>>85630829
No, it's CGI - they did a lot of walking back and forth against green screens in that flick.
It is, however, pre final edit. Not that the final edit didn't still look like shit.
>>85617321
If there ever was time to get out of here, Stalker, it is now.
>>85618010
This looks like one those stock footage photo shoots where none of the actions that are taking place make any fucking sense because they only exist to provide photographs meant to be used later, in this case it looks like a nonsense montage meant for poster stills. Also Charlie Hunnam is such a weird looking motherfucker. He needs to get better haircuts to help his looks.
>>85618010
ECUS...CALIBAAAAHH
>>85630269
Generally, the more Stephen King hates his productions, and the less he has to do with them, the better they are.The Langoliers is the exception to this rule.
>>85631975
hahah my fucking sides
>>85632924
No, I meant he hates Langoliers the book. The one he wrote.
>>85632919
The thing that disappointed me the most about this movie was ironically Excalibur's look. It was just a boring dull looking longsword. Fate still has the best looking Excalibur desu.
>>85633031
>anime
>>85619285
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__lKgigvO-Q
>>85618943
what movie is this and that looks exactly like the scene in inception when the car crashes and JGL does the hallway fight scene
>>85619378
Jesus Christ he's a psychopath. He writes most of the shit he stars in, doesn't he? I'd be surprised if he hasn't at least tried to ruthlessly murder someone in cold blood.
>>85627135
looks like that witcher 3 trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0i88t0Kacs
>>85633053
get over it faggot
>>85633105
So far he's only murdered hundreds of chickens.
>>85616942
Why didn't they just use a real deer?
I mean deer are cheap. And plentiful. And it just has to stand there eating. That's not exactly a complex scene.
>>85619565
>>85622956
>>85620568
Waaaiiiiit. Is this scene supposed to look like anything other than them standing shoulder to shoulder? I mean even then it's pretty blatantly obvious that Vin is using some kind of lifts or a platform. But they couldn't seriously have intended for this to be taken as some kind of nose-to-nose in-your-face confrontation right? Like this can't possibly be a failed attempt at forced perspective right?
>>85622592
c-cia?
>>85620145
I was convinced he was gonna stab her in the cunt
>>85633118
Did you really get triggered that hard anon? Im surprised you didn't post a smug pic of your 2D gf
>>85621484
Why would he elongate himself when diving and give them a bigger target to shoot at?
>>85624706
Jesus Christ. This is almost profoundly artistic in how well it embodies low-effort laziness.
>>85626208
Pretty good lol. Also are all these characters dead? I know the old fucker is. But what about the slimy haired git that argues with him?
>>85632146
These retards think greenscreen = CGI even when it's just composing separate shots.
See >>85623733
>>85630732
> Hollywood... deserves to crumble. And humanity... deserves to be wiped out.
>>85624706
Worst part is that you know he got paid more what I make a year just to show up, just to spend that money on bling and shit.
>>85634143
That's my friend Jamarquan Jackson, and he's actually studying computer science at MIT and goes to church every Sunday. Checkmate, racist.
>>85634272
>Do you tell him to be gentle with your girlfriend? Checkmate, reddit.
