I just watched it a couple of hours ago and I'm not impressed at all. It's not a terrible movie, but it has almost no depth. I think it wanted to be the new Drive, with great music, atmosphere, drama and a love story even males can enjoy. I think it failed on all these levels, but hey maybe it's just me.

Hudson Hawk did what this movie was trying to do, but did it better. Also in HH the music had a purpose (certain activities took certain lengths of time, and Hudson picked songs to match that length of time).

Also, dont you get put as accessory to murder for every/any death that happens during a heist, even if you didn't directly cause it? Shouldn't Baby have like 20 accessory to murder charges on him, including killing cops, for all the deaths in the final heist. how does he get 25 years and parole in 5?

Seeing the actions to the music, and seeing graffiti that matched the song lyrics made me think all of this was happening in his head (or the music was tainting his picture of reality). Liking a movie, or even relating to a movie, has nothing to do with narcissistically imagining it as being about yourself. I am nothing like Goosling's character, but I think it's a solid film for a number of reasons, chief among them the visual fidelity, despite being shot on digital. It's a digitally shot film that has a ton of great lighting choices and rightfully deserves to be screened at film schools to teach people how to focus on making a compelling image. I'm not saying that's all that matters, Only God Forgives had good imagery but was a slogfest because it lacked in other areas. And while you might not connect with Drive, it was not outright lazy in any way. You're a dismissive, baiting faggot and you should feel bad, as bad as people who watch Drive and feel validated by it because they think their autism and social ineptitude makes them cool like a cool brooding racecar hitman guy.

It was obvious throughout the movie that he had some affection for Baby. I don't understand how some people don't get this. He also probably wasn't intending to "sacrifice himself" - he fought off the arms dealers in self-defense and then got wounded.
