Nah. I just fantasize before I sleep each night about an alternate reality in which some naturally occurring set of circumstances brought about a strictly platonic friendship between myself and Brig. Ideally, I would have been born female. We would live in separate apartments but regularly sleep over at each other's places because of our very close but strictly platonic bond. There would be an unstated mutual agreement that physical contact was okay, but we would reserve it for situations that warranted it, and only initiate it then because we rationally understand the human organism's scientifically proven capacity to benefit from physical interaction psychologically (NO kissing or other intimate contact – hugs/stroking/leaning only, of the type seen between her and Ginger). We would spend most of our time pursuing our relative interests in one another's company. In the evening, we would talk about the universe and occasionally watch a movie together. The rest of the world would make assumptions; only we would understand our strictly platonic friendship. Maximum comfy.

Makes sense. John Fawcett said in a Q & A that they cut some extra scene at the greenhouse party where the cops arrived and Pam deliberately held them up to give Brig time to slip away, or something to that effect. I really like Pam's character. I think it's cool how she seems totally oblivious all through the film, and then they drop a subtle hint that she was actually where the girls got "it" from all along.

Wouldn't happen, m8. The entire friendship would be built around acknowledgement of companionship as a biological illusion and deliberate exploitation of the internal mechanisms that reward social behavior.

This idea is what most friends with benefits relationships are based on. Most friends with benefits relationships go terribly wrong sooner or later.

Right, because of the sex. Hence, in part, strictly platonic friendship. People lose interest in one another after they've had sex because being interested in one another is evolution's ploy to make people have sex. Unless you're the same gender, in which case, friendship meets various other survival needs. FWB relationships don't go wrong. They just end quicker than normal relationships because the participants are freer to express their boredom after the Coolidge effect kicks in, whereas most people try to carry on for two years while becoming increasingly more annoyed with one another...perhaps continuing this way for another twenty years, eventually culminating in divorce and a wasted life. Keeping yourself in the sweet spot of strictly platonic friendship is the most minimalistic way to overcome your brain's basic design flaws, allowing you to show maximum contempt for reality. Although, as I already said, it would be ideal if you were female in your superior alternate reality.
