Excellent film, and the nostalgia component was actually brilliant. Exactly what would happen with a bunch of 40 year olds whose lives were much more interesting 20 years ago, relive the past glory.

For real, had no business being as good a sequel as it was
I think what saved it was the fact that they weren't just trying to top the first one, so it actually works as a competent standalone movie in its own right
