Why is this so good and rewatchable?

tried to rewatch this and remembered why I liked it as a teenager. Then I switched off.

this is my favorite film. i watch it only once in a few months though and it gets better everytime.

Shawshank Redemption is the most rewatchable film and King of the Hill is the most rewatchable series

Because it's a fairly honest look at male bonding.

It's one of the few WRONG interpretations. Are they supposed to represent brothers or two sides of one person is the question. Is this whole thing gay misses the point ENTIRELY.

It's not just saying good stuff about male bonding, it's showing it amped up to 11, so even the good stuff is too much. Jack's Crumby Life did need to change, but he didn't have to go feral!

And what it says about men and women is pretty clever too, but that's not what struck me when I saw it most recently. Most recently it reminded me of the Edgar Wright film 'At Worlds End' (I think was the name), with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost male bonding like teenagers even though they were way too old.

The book is fine too. But not as laser focused as the film.

it's ok though, every good friendship story has homoerotic undertones. Dont forget tyler is jack's ideal of perfection, I bet you would be a little gay for your best possible version of yourself. Also in one part in the book jack describes tyler as an angel with the fridge's light illuminating his perfect face and hair or something along those lines

true, they should've toned it down a little and made it more down to earth like the book(I know there are stupid parts like the dinner assassination but other parts read like a noir crime story like the descriptions of the bald dudes in the house, the killing of the boss and the final 50 fights felt really serious)
