>>
>>85578940
Not quite, the Goblin suit was "army armour" and inspired by Norman Osborn's love for the occult.

It certainly would have been cooler if the armour didn't exist, only the serum. Because, seriously, "the goblin armour is gonna be military armor" makes less sense than Norman stealing one of his occult masks and using it as his costume.
It could have worked very well. Norman choosing his totem while Parker was chosen by it.

Cary Fukunaga's script for IT 2017 instead of what were going to get. He wanted to make it even MORE fucked up than the book. They couldn't find any actors or parents willing to let their children do the scenes he wanted. Most of the good stuff that we've seen in the trailer is leftover from his script.

"E.T." started out as a horror movie called "Watch the Skies" where a bunch of asshole aliens get stranded on Earth and torment a random family. One of them would be good and befriend the couple's son. Spielberg decided to focus on that and turn the movie into a more lighthearted adventure.

We could have got Kingdom of the Sun instead of Emperor's New Groove.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaHh-FgDeYE
>The protagonist is Pacha, an eighteen year old llama herder voiced by Owen Wilson. Pacha meets Emperor Manco, who he looks and sounds identical, and they decide to switch places in order to let Manco take a break from his royal duties. A romantic plot involved Nina, Manco's fiance, falling for Pacha, while Manco is with the female llama herder, Mata, who joins him in his quest back home. Yzma is a sorceress and member of the Royal Court who longs to be young and beautiful like she was years prior. She creates a plan to block out the sun. Her minions consist of a talking talisman known as Hucua, three mummies named Mick, Bowie and Lemmy, and the dark force Supai, and Kronk does not exist. Yzma turns Manco into a llama, which the emperor-llama learns humility in his new form. The climax involved Pacha and Manco set out to undo the witch's plans, and Yzma summoning Supai to engulf the kingdom, but ultimately being killed by the sun, which Pacha lassoed and pulled down to Earth.
>The movie had several delays and executives weren't fond of it. Eventually it was decided to scrap the plot and heavily rework the film into The Emperor's New Groove.
>At least 20 percent of the animation was complete and the entire story was created but only a few scenes have been leaked, via the documentary The Sweatbox. In addition to the plot being scrapped, every song from the movie was cut when it was retooled from a dramatic musical (and loose adaptation of Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper) to to a buddy comedy; despite this, three of the Kindom of the Sun songs (with one of them being Yzma's song, "Snuff Out The Light") were included on the official soundtrack.
Thankfully they at least released the villain song since it was GOAT.

I agree that Crowe would have been better than most of the others.

Viggo is the best because has the right mix of presence, age, he is not hammy, and adds gravitas.
I think one of the reasons the Hobbit sucked is because there was none like him or Bernard Hill (not counting the Istari actors for a number of reasons).
>>
>>85581666

This will forever completely baffle the fuck out of me.

I could understand if the decision was made before the practical shit was done, but they saw it and then decided "Nah, fuck it, we paid for it but change it all to c-grade cgi"

Also, IIRC, the test audiences enjoyed the practical effects, but thought the film was too slow and had a weird ending, so they completely changed the ending to a CGI mess from something that actually sounded like a fair addition to the original and altered the rest of the effects in the film to "excite" the audience more. Ironically, they now hated the CGI instead but at that point it was too late to change it back.
>>
>>85579853
I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in the use of CGI in a movie.

Literally why? Was it that much cheaper than using people? Shit, you didn't even have to do full body makeup or anything. In the book they're fully clothed and look basically human.

Its shit like this that make me think "so everyone involved didn't even want to put minimal effort into making this not age like shit?"

>>
>>85583762
More or less. The deleted ending made worlds more sense and sort of shoehorned it in, but it was still pretty shallow. The used ending just makes it a zombie film.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPSk30qzgFs

The point of the book was that the main guy is the monster. They're vampire society is doing perfectly fine, hell, thriving, and they live in fear of him since he just goes around during the day murdering them in their sleep. In the book, he even gets a trial and execution, and his last thoughts are about how he viewed himself as humanity's savior, but is really just useless in this new society.

Either way, even if they did want to keep the stupid brainless zombies, I feel as though it would've been cheaper and easier to just use methead-looking real life humans.

The Burton/Schumacher movies have really fascinating stories behind them, I'll dump a few of the best

>Burton stated in an interview that he had initially wanted Adam West and Julie Newmar to play Thomas and Martha Wayne in the flashback, symbolizing the "death" of the old Batman. Script rewrites caused this to be scrapped, and West later said he wasn't even offered the role (and even if he was, he wouldn't have taken it).

>Burton was pressured by Warner Bros. to cast an obvious action movie star, and approached Pierce Brosnan, but he had no interest in playing a comic book character. Burton was originally interested in casting an unknown actor, and offered Ray Liotta a chance to audition after having completed Something Wild, but Liotta declined, a decision he regrets.

>Also considered for the role of Batman: Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Charlie Sheen, Tom Selleck, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, Jeff Bridges, Matthew Broderick, Tom Cruise, Michael J. Fox, Harrison Ford, Kevin Spacey, Kurt Russell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Hanks, and Bruce Willis.

>Brad Dourif, Tim Curry, David Bowie, John Lithgow and James Woods were considered for the Joker. Burton wanted to cast Brad Dourif, but the studio refused. Robin Williams lobbied hard for the part. Jack Nicholson had been producer Michael Uslan's and Bob Kane's choice since 1980.

>Sean Young was originally cast as Vicki Vale, but was injured in a horse-riding accident prior to commencement of filming. Other actresses approached to play Vicki include: Jamie Lee Curtis, Madonna, Carrie Fisher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sissy Spacek, Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver and dozens of others

>The Coen Brothers reportedly turned down the chance to make the film. David Cronenberg also declined.

>Michael Jackson was asked to write and perform the songs for the movie, but he had to turn it down due to his concert commitments.

And here are the details for Tom Mankiewicz's original script

>A number of filmmakers were attached to Mankiewicz' script, including Ivan Reitman and Joe Dante. Reitman wanted to cast Bill Murray as Batman and Eddie Murphy as Robin.

>Bruce Wayne witnesses his parents being murdered by Joe Chill, who is later killed by The Joker, who had been hired by Rupert Thorne to eliminate Thomas, Thorne's rival for Head of the City Council. Bruce becomes a billionaire after investing in McDonald's and returns to Gotham as Batman, with help from Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner Gordon.

>Bruce falls in love with Thorne's secretary, Silver St. Cloud, who finds out his secret identity; and fights the Joker and the Penguin, another mobster hired by Thorne. The Joker frames Batman of a series of crimes, including the murder of the Mayor, who is replaced by Thorne. One of the attacks results in the deaths of the Flying Graysons, and Bruce adopts their son, Dick Grayson, who also finds out his secret identity and becomes Robin.

>Batman and Robin learn that Silver has been kidnapped by the Joker and follow her to a museum, where they defeat the Joker. However, Silver sacrifices herself to protect Batman from Thorne, who is killed by Batman. Batman and Robin become partners and continue to fight crime in Gotham.

>Highlights of the script include Bruce awkwardly losing his virginity to a drunk socialite at a college party, an over-the-top chase between Batman and the Penguin's goons, sporting jetpacks and laser umbrellas, a Batmobile with a force field, a submarine and flight mode.

>The climax takes place at the Museum of Natural History, which is filled with giant writing objects. Batman and Robin fight the Joker in the onomatopeia room, surrounded by "POWS" and "BAMS", and Batman kills Thorne by throwing him into a giant pencil sharpener, while screaming "May God damn your soul, Rupert Thorne!". Also there's a running gag of Gordon mistaking Batman for a transexual.

Batman Returns
>The character of Max Shreck was originally written for Harvey Dent (Billy Dee Williams), thus explaining the character's political ambitions. His disfiguring appearance of Two-Face would have appeared in the climax when Catwoman kisses him with a taser to the face, which was replaced with Max Shreck.

>In early scripts Max Shreck was the "golden boy" of the Cobblepot family, whereas Penguin was the deformed outsider. It turned out that Shreck would be the Penguin's long-lost brother

>Annette Bening was Tim Burton's original choice to play Selina/Catwoman. Sean Young, still bitter over losing the role of Vicki Vale, lobbied hard to secure the role as Catwoman, even going as far as to confront a production office wearing a homemade Catwoman costume, with disastrous results. Other candidates were Cher, Bridget Fonda, Jodie Foster, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Madonna, Demi Moore and Raquel Welch.

>Danny Devito was Burton's definitve choice for The Penguin. But other actors suggested for the part were Dustin Hoffman, Marlon Brando, Bob Hoskins, John Goodman, Dean Martin, Alan Rickman, Christopher Lee, Joe Pesci, and Christopher Lloyd. Burgess Meredith was cast for a little cameo as Tucker Cobblepot, Penguin's father, but illness prevented him from it

>David Bowie was the first choice for the part of Max Shreck. Bowie turned down the role in favor of Twin Peaks. Tim Burton was reportedly uncomfortable with casting Christopher Walken as Max Shreck. When asked him why he said, "Because that man scares the hell out of me."

>Dick Grayson was going to have a cameo played by Marlon Wayans. He would have been a young mechanic nicknamed "The Kid", who was enlisted to remove the remote control device Penguin had installed on the Batmobile, and help Batman stop the legion of penguins. Apparently, Marlon still gets residual checks for the movie to this day.

Batman Forever
>Originally Burton was intended to handle the franchise. But due to the controversy raised by Batman Returns, Burton was removed from the franchise after one meeting. Still, he states that he much prefers his work in Returns over the first film, and that it was time for him to do different things. Burton is still credited on the movie as a producer, as he had been involved in drafting the original story.

>At one point, when Burton was going to direct, he was going to cast Brad Dourif as The Scarecrow.

>Sam Raimi lobbied to be the director.

>Schumacher was a life-long comic book fan before signing in and originally wanted to do a film version of Year One. He had Frank Miller's help in drafting a screenplay. Warner Bros. rejected the idea as they wanted a sequel, not a prequel, and wanted something that could be sold to kids.

>Michael Keaton left due to Burton's departure and his dislike for the script, turning down 15 million. Val Kilmer jumped at the chance to play Batman. Other names considered for the part included Daniel Day-Lewis, Ralph Fiennes, Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves and Johnny Depp

>Other picks for Robin include Leonardo Dicaprio, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor and Mark Wahlberg

>Burton supposedly wanted Mickey Dolenz as the Riddler with a question mark carved into his forehead. Carrey was planning on shaving a question mark on his head, but scrapped it because he was due in court

>Robin Williams was in discussions to be the Riddler at one point. In a 2003 interview, Schumacher stated Michael Jackson lobbied hard for the role.

>Many scenes were ultimately deleted from the final product or never filmed due to the rushed, troubled production. Some of these include the escape of Two-Face from Arkham Asylum as the opening scene as well as a brief sequence involving Bruce waking up after being shot in the head by Two-Face, temporarily forgetting his origin and life as the Dark Knight

It's been a while since I read it, but doesn't he actually kill himself BEFORE they get to give him the trial? Before they potentially learn he's just a mere mortal, he decides to give them an even bigger fuck you and offs himself. That's why the book ends with the title, "I Am Legend" because he knows he'll die and all memories of him will now be legend.

Unless of course I'm remembering that wrong, which is possible.

And finally, Batman and Robin

>Schumacher originally had a strong interest in casting William Baldwin in Kilmer's place, but George Clooney was cast instead. David Duchovny was also considered.

>Nicole Kidman was slated to play Poison Ivy in the previous film. While the character appeared in Batman & Robin, she was played by Uma Thurman instead. Julia Roberts, Sharon Stone, and Demi Moore were all rumored to be in the running for Poison Ivy

>Patrick Stewart, Ed Harris Sylvester Stallone, Anthony Hopkins and Hulk Hogan were considered for Mr. Freeze. After being the one who suggested Danny DeVito as the Penguin in Batman Returns, Arnold was chosen to play Mr.Freeze. Arnold stated that the outfit was suffocating and shortly after finishing the film he was forced to undergo heart surgery. Still, he remarks that he thought Freeze was a good character and eventually took the armor with him after shooting was over.

>Kane Hodder was Joel Schumacher's first choice for Bane, until he chose Jeep Swenson for his height at 6'4

>In earlier drafts, Barbara wasn't actually Alfred's niece but the daughter of an old friend of his that came to see him as her "uncle". This was kept for the comic adaptation. Additionally, Barbara's Batgirl costume was to also have a full-head cowl, but Schumacher didn't like the look of it after a costume test and wanted Alicia Silverstone's hair to flow freely. Thus, the domino mask was used, though Silverstone does use a cowl as Batgirl in one scene.

Oh, and here's some additional information regarding the plans for the movies post-B&R, that were shitcanned because the movie murdered the franchise

>Before the film was even released, plans were in motion for continuations of the franchise. The first was a fifth film (working title was Batman Unchained). Schumacher wanted to return to the style of the Burton films and make a much darker story. The Scarecrow would've been the main villain, with Harley Quinn (here, the Joker's daughter seeking revenge) and Man-Bat (his mutation caused by Crane) in supporting roles. Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito were in negotiations to return as the Joker and Penguin (albeit as hallucinations). There were also rumors that Howard Stern would be the voice of Scarecrow and Batman was going to be played by Bret Hart. The negative reception to Batman & Robin post-release led to Warner eventually ending those plans.

>The second idea was a Robin/Nightwing spin-off, with Chris O'Donnell reprising his role as Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing. It is speculated that, if films beyond Batman Unchained were to be made, O'Donnell would be Nightwing rather than Robin.

>After the film's negative reception, plans for Tim Burton's "Superman Lives" have been shut down. The movie would've been a first attempt to have a shared universe between Batman and Superman, with George Clooney reprising his role as Batman, and with Nicolas Cage as Superman.

>After the movie failed, Joel Schumacher also had several meetings with Warner Bros. to get them to reconsider letting him do another Batman movie. Schumacher wanted to take the film back to its darker roots and make the "Batman: Year One" movie he wanted to since the beginning. Schumacher wanted to cast Kurt Russell as a young Commissioner Gordon and would have had Selina Kyle as a young, beautiful African-American woman living in the ghetto. However, Warner Bros. decided not to rehire Schumacher.

Stay cool everyone.

Speaking of I AM LEGEND, Ridley Scott was developing his own version in the 1990's, with Arnold Schwarzenegger attached to star. Sounded pretty kino.

>Architect Robert Neville (Arnold Schwarzenegger) becomes the last man on Earth after a virus wipes out most of the planet's population and turns the remnants into "Neocytes", monstrous creatures averse to sunlight. Neville then relocates to a fortified house in Los Angeles, and becomes an alcoholic.

>During a scavenging mission to gather supplies, Neville is nearly killed by the Neocytes, but manages to escape. One of the creatures is injured, and Neville takes pity on it and brings it back to his house, where it receivs a blood transfusion. It soon becomes clear that Neville's blood can revert the virus' effects, and the Neocyte reverts to its human self, a young woman, Emma, who bonds with Neville and eventually becomes his lover.

>Neville attempts to produce more blood samples, dreaming of curing the human race, but is ambushed by Neocytes led by Alpha, a vicious tribal leader with fragments of intelligence who doesn't want civilization to be restored. After Alpha burns down the house, destroys the blood samples and kills Emma, an embittered, vengeful Neville arms himself and launches a vicious campaign against Alpha and his pack, killing them all at the cost of his own life. As the Neocytes becomes the dominant species on the planet, Neville becomes a boogeyman figure among them, and the tale of his brutal vengeance spreads through other tribes until Neville becomes legend.

Pic related is concept art for the Neocytes. Unfortunately, Scott and Arnold were both coming off of a string of box office duds at the time, so the studio wasn't confident in giving them a $100M+ budget for a hard R sci-fi drama. Scott called it quits and moved on to GLADIATOR.

The movie got a lot of flak at the time. Mostly from concerned parents.
McDonalds pulling advertising over the scene where Penguin bites a man's nose, it had reviews blasting it for being too dark, the Jewish groups who felt offended by Penguin's characterization, them being unable to sell action figures based on this movie's Penguin, etc.
It's quite possibly the only time in the history of superhero movies where the critics liked it better than the audience did at the time.
Kids still liked it because it had Batman and it was weird and funny. The movie was vinticated by history after all the buzz died out.
It wasn't made to be kid-friendly or even that faithful to the source material. This movie is Tim Burton playing with a million dollar budget and franchise with full creative freedom to make up for his frustrations with Batman 89. And that's part of what makes it so great.

Even Burton kind of admitted he stepped over the line when he talked about it later, although he doesn't regret it too much and regards Returns much better than he does the first movie. And it's easy to see why.
There were no excessive production troubles, or cast members fighting each other, or studio executives demanding constant rewrites at every second. It was as close to auteur filmmaking as a cape film can ever be.

I got you, senpai.

"Indiana Jones and the Monkey-King" (1985) from writer Chris Columbus.

>In 1945, Indiana Jones is called away from his vacation is Ireland, where he faces a murderous banshee, to help his old friend Dr. Claire Clarke, who is searching for the citadel of the Monkey-King in Africa and its fabled magical peaches that grant immortality. Jones is unknowingly followed by his suicidally lovestruck student Betsy Tuffet, and they are soon led by wisecracking guide Scraggy Brier to Tyky, the pygmy prince of the citadel, who is then captured by Nazi forces led by General Werner Von Mephisto and his enforcer, Colonel Helmut Gutterbuhg, who has a mechanical arm that fires bolts of electricity.

>Jones and his friends join forces with Japanese pirate Kezure to rescue Tyky, who then leads them to the citadel. Kezure then betrays them to Von Mephisto, who kills Tyky's father and usurps the throne. Jones manages to escape and rallies the sentient animals of the citadel to stand against the Nazis. He defeats Gutterbugh but is then fatally shot by Mephisto. Tyky summons the Monkey-King, who destroys Mephisto and revives Jones, giving him a sentient shapeshifting whip in retribution for Jones' valor. Kezure tries to steal one of the magic peaches, but chooses the wrong one and rapidly ages and crumbles into dust.

>Clarke decides to leave the citadel untouched by civilization and leaves with Tuffet and Scraggy while Jones departs in search of new adventures.

"Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods" (2004) from writer Frank Darabont.

>In 1954, Indiana Jones finds out that his friend Yuri Makovsky is a Soviet spy sent to steal the Crystal Skull from the United States government. After being framed for being Makovsky's accomplice, Jones is target by a Soviet assassin, but manages to kill him and masquerade as Makovsky to retrieve the Crystal Skull and a map to Peru, where Jones runs into Marion Ravenwood and her new husband, arrogant explorer Peter Belasko, who are searching for the fabled City of the Gods using Jones's mentor Vernon Oxley, who has been driven insane by his experiments with the Crystal Skull, as a guide.

>Jones joins the expedition, hoping to restore Oxley's sanity, and the group tangles with Makovsky and his men as well as corrupt Presidente Escalante and Von Grauen, a psychopathic neo-Nazi masquerading as a meek missionary. The group eventually reaches the City of the Gods and returns the Crystal Skull to its owner, an ancient extraterrestrial being who was worshipped as a god by numerous civilizations.

>The alien offers to fulfill the group's greatest desires, but then kills Belasko, Escalante and Von Grauen by subverting their wishes. Jones realizes the alien is a parasite who is feeding off of their psychic energy and rescues Ravenwood, Oxley and Makovsky, setting off an explosion that destroys the alien and then surrendering Makovsky to the authorities. Jones and Ravenwood then rekindle their relationship and ultimately get married, while Oxley's sanity is restored and he even develops minor telepathic and telekinetic abilities.

"Lost Continent" never leaked, but it is known it'd revolve around Atlantis and allegedly introduce Indy's black sheep con man older brother Smith, played by Kevin Costner. Sandra Bullock was allegedly going to be the lead female.

I'm okay with it, personally. They were basing this version of Batman off the 40s, when he was a The Shadow knock-off who killed goons in cold blood.

It's not like he is stabbing goons or breaking their necks or dragging their vehicles around until they explode, unlike certain versions.
The Burton movies don't really make a big deal out of it, they are just treated like cartoon violence. Like when Bugs Bunny stick a bunch of dynamite in someone's pants or when Elmer Fudd shoots Daffy in the face.
It just makes for some funny gags.

Arnold actually has a bunch of scrapped projects under his belt, like Oliver Stone's RETURN TO THE APES from 1995.

>In the near future, humanity is on the verge of extinction due to a deadly virus. Geneticist Will Robinson (Arnold Schwarzengger) discovers that the plague is a genetic time bomb created in the Stone Age. He then travels back in time with pregnant colleague Billie Rae Diamond to a period when Palaeolithic humans were at war for the future of the planet with highly evolved apes led by supreme commander Drak. Robinson and Billie Rae discover a young human girl, Aiv (pronounced Eve), to be the next step in evolution, and that it was the apes that created the virus to destroy the human race. They protect her from the virus, thus ensuring the survival of the human race 102,000 years later. Billie Rae gives birth to a baby boy named Adam, who falls in love with Aiv long after the deaths of Robinson and Billie Rae, and their descendants become the Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

This one was scrapped because one producer was fucking obsessed with a scene of Arnold teaching the pre-historic apes to play baseball and fired the original writer when he said it was a stupid idea. Scott lost interest, and Tim Burton came on board, ordering a page one rewrite. Arnold eventually left to pursue other projects as well.

And then there's Paul Verhoeven's CRUSADE from 1991.

>In 1895 A.D., thief Hagen (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is caught stealing from an abbey, but avoids execution by faking a miracle and is recruited by the corrupt Pope Urban II (Christopher Macdonald) as a propaganda tool in the Crusades against the barbaric muslims who have besieged Jerusalem. Hagen's commanding officer is his psychopathic, sadistic half-brother, Count Emmerich of Bascarat (Gary Sinise). After Hagen disfigures Emmerich's face in retaliation for Emmerich raping an innocent young woman, Emmerich arranges for Hagen to be sold into slavery to the Saracens.

>By a stroke of fate, Hagen's old friend, con man Ari (John Turturro), turns out to be a distant relative of Prince Ibn Khaldun, and arranges for Hagen to instead become a soldier for the Saracens. Journeying to Jerusalem, where he intends to escape, Hagen instead finds a peaceful realm where Christians, Jewish and Muslim co-exist in peace and realizes the Crusaders are the enemy. He also falls in love with Khaldun's sister Mira (Jennifer Connelly) and rallies the people of Jerusalem to stand against Emmerich and his army in a bloodthirsty battle.

This was Verhoeven's pet project and was being developed by Carolco Pictures, but was scrapped when "Showgirls" flopped and Carolco went bankrupt. Verhoeven was trying to be edgy as fuck as usual, so the script presents the Saracens as a the good guys and is filled with over the top violence like Hagen stumbling upon a pedophile rape orgy in a church, Hagen caving in Emmerich's face by bludgeoning his helmet, Emmerich raping teenage girls on a medieval bathtub filled with grapes in order to savor the tainted juice that the smashed grapes produced, and Hagen being stitched to a live donkey and having to tear himself free.

Yes I agree. In the books he came off as a hard dwarf who was bitter at not having his kingdom, and in the very end he learns that what was important was merriment and cheer, the little things in life.

Artimage could have been that if he was aged more and had better directing. They tried too hard to carbon copy the attractive rugged hero.

I feel sorry for Joel Schumacher. Most of what's wrong with the movie is not his fault.
Imagine being a huge fan of a popular franchise, and then you receive a once in a lifetime chance to actually direct movies for this franchise, and you have all these great (in your head) ideas about what you want to do, only for the studio to shoot them down and tell you they just want something to sell toys. And when you do exactly what they ask you to do, your movie is panned so hard it almost kills the careers of the people involved, the blame falls entirely on you, you become infamous as a huge stain on the franchise's name that would take years to wash off, and your career and name are wrecked, and you become forever known for it.

I mean, most of his ideas were terrible and he definitely wasn't competent enough of a director to make it big without the Batman fame, but shit, it kills me to imagine how that must have felt like.

Bullshit. Studio execs have no idea how kids actually feel about this stuff.
They always use the kids as an excuse whenever the actor is being such a spoiled cunt he doesn't want to spend too much time on heavy make-up.
Kids love freaky looking villains, especially when they get to see how the guy looks underneath the make-up and be surprised.

Imagine being Chris O’Donnell in that scene and having to be all like "damn, Uma Thurman, you fuckin' fine, all sexy with your tight body and smooshed down syndrome baby face. I would totally kiss you, both my character and the real me." when all he really wants to do is fuck another pair of 16 year olds in his dressing room who wanted to meet the real Robin. Like seriously imagine having to be Chris and not only having to be curled up next to her while Uma Thurman is supposedly presented to you like some kind of beautiful flower that has just unfurled only for you, the spotlight shining on her and playing up her make up job that you could only describe as some terrifying diseased tranny rodeo clown, take after take, hour after hour, being forced to kiss her over and over again. Not only having to tolerate her gaudy drag inspired fucking visage, but her haughty attitude as everyone on set tells her WITH LOOKS LIKE THAT, YOU'RE GONNA BE BIG and YOU'VE GOT THE WHOLE PACKAGE: BEAUTY AND ACTING CHOPS, BABE because they're not the ones who have to sit there and watch her mannish fucking caked up Divine looking face contort into types of grimaces you didn't even know existed before that day. You've been fucking nothing but a healthy diet of blondes and supermodels for your ENTIRE CAREER, making all kinds of young pussies in America wet with your picture in Teen Dreams magazine before you even had an acting career. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the sweat that's breaking out on her spotty, porous face as her crows feet laden eyes suggestively attempt to coerce you, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to sit there and revel in her "smokey (for that is what she calls her deep man voice)" baritone, while delivering such groaners as "slippery when wet".

from http://ew.com/article/1998/03/13/jim-carrey-play-andy-kaufman-man-moon/

>Never mind the Oscars. Last week, an even more heated contest between at least five of Hollywood’s top actors went down. The prize: the lead role in director Milos Forman‘s Man on the Moon — the biopic of late comedian and Taxi star Andy Kaufman. To win the part, the contenders — Jim Carrey, Edward Norton, Kevin Spacey, John Cusack, and The Birdcage‘s Hank Azaria — did the unthinkable: They auditioned. (Even top dog Nicolas Cage was said to be interested in playing Kaufman, who died of lung cancer in 1984 at 35. Cage apparently refused to audition.)
