How can anime even compete?

2 was the only season I liked, it had interesting and relateable white characters. everything else was max level niggetry and boring political shit that left me with the impression that only a nuke could save baltimore.

The Wire is one of the top 3 BUT anime can certainly compete:

-Cowboy Bebop
-Lain
-Jin Roh
-Akira
-Golgo 13
-Vampire hunter D (first movie)
-Ghost in the shell
-Redline
-Mindgame


I personally lean more towards ninja based anime (Bassilisk, Ninja Scroll) but anime has contributed a lot of things to art in general as much as The Wire.

Im hoping we can have a serious discussion about it.

no, season 1 sucks. season 2 is much better and deals with stuff like the russian mob and season 3 is probably the best. 4 and 5 are bad too but if you make it through season 3 the momentum might carry you to finish it. it's up to you though.
