They are obviously edited for oversea markets with lasting 50 minutes and clear breaks and recaps every 10 minutes. Then you have the content itself, they have clearly "sexed it up" with quick editing and presenters going over the top, trying to build up excitement and suspension over nothing.

A good example of how much the BBC has degraded is Planet Earth 2, that was atrocious compared to the first one, almost Channel 5 tier. Just about the only BBC show I can stand now is Countryfile and Gardener's World, but even they occasionally fall prey to this bullshit.
