I realized the other day that BvS, a movie with a leitmotifs concerning perception vs. reality and confronting truth, is doing something really subtle. It combines both those things when it's centering on Superman. It's not just letting us see Superman as the world sees him, but also lets us see the world as *he's* seeing it. In the most human of ways, he's only seeing the bad. He sees people embracing controversy, paranoio, xenophobia, people who rabidly hate him, and possibly most dangerous of all, people who are coming to worship him.

While we see hints of the truth throughout the film, It is only once he's gone that we fully see the it. Most of the world really does see him for what he truly is - not a god, not a devil, but mankind's angel, its protector and its hero. That crowd at the end, those weren't "converts." They were the people who'd never been polarized, the people who saw what he did and knew who he was.

I hope Elfman uses the themes set out by Zimmer/junkieXL.

I didn't realise how much of BvS JunkieXL did until I watched the videos on his YouTube channel. He's seriously fucking good and I can't believe up until last month I just assumed the score was predominantly Zimmer, it was the other way around. Nearly every piece I could recall, except the WW theme, was JunkieXL.

Please, stop calling these films masterpieces, you are embarassing yourselves and discredit their actual value. MoS and BvS are very good, complex films which challenge the tropes of superhero genre and explore their characters and the world through deeply emotional, almost spiritual visual language, but they both have a lot of serious flaws and definitely can't be called masterpieces.

Here's how it goes down.
>See MoS/BvS the first time, uninformed
>Don't understand it, it's shit
>Go on /tv/, they fill you in
>rewatch it
>understand it
>it's still shit
>go back to /tv/ and get called a marveldrone

I can't be too upset though, considering people who actually like these two are the minority outside of this shit board.
>>
>>85530435
Did he do that full orchestral+choral piece that ran with the final confrontation between Clark and Doomsday? I'm asking because it's a brilliant variation on the Battle of Metropolis theme.
>>
MoS could have been a better film if they narrative wasn't so muddled. No idea why they didn't play the origin story clean and instead opting for flashbacks.
>>
>>85530827
I think that was Zimmer and JunkieXL together.

JunkieXL, solo, did Black and Blue, Day of the Dead, Beautiful Lie, New Rules and Do you Bleed?
>>
>>85530885
>Beautiful Lie
Best piece of opening music in a capeshit, hands down.

If Flashpoint doesn't have a retelling of that scene, with a rearrangement of Beautiful Lie as Bruce dies, I'll be sorely disappointed
>>
>>85530885
He did the ending theme, Batman Suite, as well.

>Tfw Zimmer trained Junkie in the art of scoring capeshit so he could hand over duties for JL to him, then he's booted off the project
>>
>>85530885
Beautiful Lie is perfection to me. As is Lex's theme.

So...what's the confusing dream sequence involving Clark going to be this time?

>Has an apocalyptic conversation with Zod in MoS, using mind powers or some shit
>Has a confusing conversation with his dead dad where he gains new information
>>
>>85531208

He'll have an expositional chat with Thomas and Martha Wayne about Batman is a good boy who dindu nuffin and he needs to join his team.

Also in Flashpoint, it'll be revealed every dream sequence was caused by future Flash interfering in the timelines, cap this post.

>A tale a bout a man vs a God

This is actually one of the things than bothers me more about MoS and BvS, both movies can't shut up about how Kal-El is Jesus Christ himself but this version of Superman is one of the most flawed ones, he isn't even exactly smarter than the average human being.

The whole Jesus Christ deal is that you have to believe in him and his sacrifice to be saved by God, he is giving you a second chance to be saved even if you're not a hebrew while Superman is a fucking Super Hero you don't have to believe he exists nor worship him, but he'll save you nonetheless if he has the chance even if you're the worst piece of shit. He is not preaching he is the son of the true God Jor-El and that you have to believe in him to save your soul.

Also It's hard to buy the idea Superman is a god if Lex Luthor easily manipulates him and Batman beats the shit out of him when he loses his powers due to the exposure kryptonite smoke bombs.

The whole 'religious' and 'mythological' symbolism in those movies is empty symbolism that makes little sense if you really think about it.

And the DCEU bullshit isn't that different than the MCU bullshit either, all the movies end up in a Hollywood high-end happy ending, but DC shows more explosions and buildings being destroyed and that everything has an Instagram dark filter.
>>
>WW comes out
>actually handles its themes well and everyone likes it
>Snydercucks pretend it's shit

The DCEU deserves better.

Didn't have to read past your first sentence.

Clark isn't Jesus. He's Brian. The only empty thing here is your well-spoken(if flawed) analysis. He's seen by various people over the course of both films as either a savior deity(like Christ), a light deity(like Horus), a sun deity(like Apollo), and a powerful skyfather-type deity deity(like Jehovah or Zeus). It all depends on who's looking at him.

Clark is a hero that keeps being mistaken for a god, and it's happening in a world where things like magic, belief, and worship are real forces.
>>
Is kinda pathetic how much /tv/ defends Snyder

>>
>>85532526
I don't think it's shit. I think it's a competently-made origin story that handles its themes well. It's just a lot more accessible to normie audiences. That doesn't make it bad, quite the opposite, but the fact remains that it's focusing on specific themes and world-building already set up by the two preceding films, and because of that, it's a lot more shallow thematically.

It's still a thoroughly enjoyable film.
>>
>>85528713

I could care less about the capeshit battles, but the pic is fairly much correct.
