Wtf actually happened then? Was Travis infected all along?

Nah, the little kid was somwhow. "It" probably got to him, thats why he was uncounscious and Will with chick denied sleepwalking and werent lying. Little shit infected Travis and since they all were in full contact with other family, they all got fucked. Travis died first and his parents followed.
Great movie overall.

Could've been. I got the vibe that, the child was infected and Travis got it from him, but you could be right. The guy who jumped them in the woods, my guess is that he was a part of some bigger family or group that killed their dog and left at at their door as a warning or revenge. Dog probably got infected. Dunno if the infection spread to the kid when he was wandering around at night.

Honestly thought the movie was alright was very underwhelmed by the end. Some things I really liked in it. Very good cinematography in certain parts, and the finale where they all turned on each other was genuinely thrilling. Liked the realism too.

But none of the characters were that intriguing to me really. A lot of scenes weren't very engaging and didn't feel like they payed off. Was very annoyed by the recurring nightmares Travis had. Removed all tension because you knew anything disturbing or surreal would just turn out to be a dream. The tense finale was good, but I don't think it satisfied the build up to it. Just very very underwhelming.
