It was decent. Most if it was just the main character joking around mixed with a few bloody scenes. It doesn't give you much investment in any of the characters, but it's a pleasurable diversion.

The message was about corruption, not religion. Also making the villain sympathetic isn't a bad thing. They make it pretty clear that Dracula is evil.

It's a great show, I loved that over memorable part where the guy said the thing. Fantastic piece of character development. Can't wait for season 2!!!!

I marathoned the first episode in the course of a week and I have to say it's okay.
I've been marathoning episode 2 for about 3 days now and still have a while left to go.
It's getting interesting but I'll make my decision after another 4 more days of marathoning episode 2.
If it's good I'll spend the entire next week marathoning episode 3.

The demon in the finale even gives an entire monologue about how the church fucked up. and really, that level of complete and utter corruption is not far from what the church would have been up to in those days.

I don't get why people like this so much, I assume it's just because it's based on a videogame and not because it's actually good. I never played the games but the story, voice acting and animation were all horrible. Nobody would be praising this if it wasn't based on a classic game everyone blindly nostalgia's over.
