Recently rewatched the first and it's not that good, Sellers doesnt even get to shine as much as many other films. Sellers and Edwards' The Party is a much better, more fun, and funnier film from the same time.

Realistically, Niven was supposed to be the star of the first pink panther. Sellers dominated - so Edwards made him the stars of the movies.
