I would love this but it's a bit too meta for normie western audiences

JoJo might actually work because you could get beefy American actors instead of scrawny Japanese dudes, but I doubt any studio would understand how the action of JoJo works - with the exception of maybe Edgar Wright?

A safe bet would be Cowboy Bebop. It's an excellent anime and great introductory material for people who haven't seen any anime before. It has cool music, a standard but engaging sci-fi plot, likeable characters.
