I just watched Das Boot and l really enjoyed.
I think I even managed to learn some German.
It was interesting and different to see a WW2 film from the Germans perspective.
Are there any other films like this? From the perspective of the losing side? Either WW1 or WW2
Also what are some other good submarine movies besides hunt for red october?
Unsere Mutter, unsere Vater

Downfall

I take my statement back. It's not by the same director. Still a recommend worthy lichtspiel.
greatest story never told
downfall
stalingrad
are all that comes to mind for me.
a lot of ww2 movies(even the propaganda ones) normally show everyday soldiers as normal humans just doing their thing, but will normally show the SS / Nazis as monsters.

I don't know if you can class 'greatest story never told' as a movie, it's a documentary.
It has lots on interesting stuff and smashes a lot of the post war lies and exaggerations, however it's ruined by the blatant Nat Soc propaganda
