Nah, he did the same act on Relentless and Revelations. Relentless was just released much later. They were recorded months apart. That's generally what comedians do. Make a new act every year or two and tour it.

Sane Man is mostly dick jokes and solid observational humor with the odd peppering of politics, and that's what his act turned into right around the end in late '93. Relentless and Revelations are like a long-form political rant with a handful of weak punchlines thrown in.

You know... Hicks was influenced by other comedians, right? Hell, Sam Kinison is the guy who introduced him to drugs. He copped most of his attitude from him. And the ranty, politically referential stuff? He toured with Dennis Miller. And of course was influenced by Carlin.
