Jesus died between 26-36 AD (Pontius Pilate's period as prefect of Judea). Mark was written probably written around 70-75 AD, Matthew and Luke no earlier than 85 AD and John around 95 AD... perhaps as late as the early 2nd century. The attributions are basically apocryphal. Nowhere does say, the author of John claim to be a disciple. Even if Jesus died in 36 AD and John was like 14 it stretches the imagination to believe that a peasant Aramaic speaking galilean later learned how to read and write good koine greek and wrote his testament at like 80. The gospels werent written by people who knew jesus (they dont even really claim to be) and probably werent even written by people who had met people who knew Jesus. They tell such different stories. Seriously read how Jesus died in Mark and take notes. Then read how he dies in John and take notes. There's no fucking chance they're telling the same story. They're clearly not actual telling of events nor were they ever meant to be taken as such.

The word "god" in all cultures is a very generic and vague description. ANYTHING can be a god. A god can even have his/her own "God." Apocalypse(a powerful mutant) was worshipped as a god but his existence has a logical explanation. In the comic books, Apocalypse defeated Thor. That makes Apocalypse a god in his own right even if he's just another mutant.

Dormammu, Hela, Surtur, Galactus, The Living Tribunal, Odin, Silver Surfer, Thanos, Mephisto, Frost Giants, the Celestials, are all gods. What makes Dormammu, Mephisto, Surtur and Hela so dangerous is that they have their own universes to themselves while those other smaller gods depend on the realm they were born in to rule. The moment you step into their universe you play by their rules no matter how powerful you are yourself.
