>/who/ presents:
DOCTOR WHO: SHIT TRIPS Vol. 2
- The Anthology -

>Are you a true fan of Doctor Who?
>Have you ever written down a sequence of words?

If the answer is yes or no, then you are ready to contribute a literary masterpiece to the second /who/ collection of original Doctor Who-based short fiction.

/who/ did it once. Now, we're gonna do it again! Yet another entry in an age-old tradition of p̶a̶c̶k̶a̶g̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶g̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶i̶r̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶l̶e̶g̶i̶t̶i̶m̶a̶c̶y̶ / celebrating the magic of Who and the talent of a community.

There are no limits (except the story must be at least 1 word long, and preferably not in excess of 10,000, it's short fiction you fuck).

>- Can involve any Doctor(s), companion(s), side characters, spinoff characters and beyond, as your heart desires
>- Can be in any style, whether it's "legitimate writing", "pisstake", or "shitpost".
>- Can be about absolutely anything
>- The main focus is on good fun in the vein of the wiki, although serious entries are allowed. (If you're going to write smut, maybe approach it with a degree of levity)

Stuck for ideas? Try starting with your favourite TARDIS team (or for timeliness, Whittaker 13th Doctor) and one of these authentic titles:
http://www.saberpunk.net/DoctorWho/DoctorWhoSerialGenerator.php
https://glyphobet.net/drwho

We are going to be starting an index on the wiki for the collection. Anyone can contribute, no signups/pitches required. If you have ideas, feel free to broadcast them.
The rest is self-explanatory. Format for uploading your work is up to you, as long as it can be conveniently copied across (and ideally don't spam long texts in /who/ directly). (Pastebin works well.)

BONUS: Anyone who wants to do cover art or "illustrations" is encouraged.

WE need more entries for classic as well as NuWho Doctors. Entries for Thirteen are accepted as well. Aug 10th is deadline

Should I just pretend I agree with all liberal stuff? It's not fun not being part of the group.

>I'm too much of a cletus to feel included as part of Doctor Who's audience any more, so watching classic Who or listening to audios or reading books just makes me feel alienated
I'm really struggling to see how one of these things leads to the other.
>>
>>85456176
As in use this thread, not the other one.
>>
>>85456163
Ignore the liberal stuff. There's still adventures and monsters.
>>
>>85456204
Because I'm not the audience. If Nick Briggs, for example, found out that I bought his audios, he would tell me to fuck off. There's something about knowing that that sucks all the fun out of everything. I can't go to cons and get shit signed because I know Colin Baker would tell me to fuck off if he found out I supported Trump. You know what I mean?
>>
>SHE may be the first female Doctor Who, but Jodie Whittaker's next acting role sees her play a nurse who can only pretend to be a doctor.
what did they meant by this
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZBouaRQn2c
>>
>>85456310
Well, you seem nice, so if you explained why you support Trump calmly, it might be fine. Colin might disagree, but he wouldn't tell you to "fuck off."

And Briggs would cheer on anyone who actually spent money on his audios.
>>
>>85456310
You can tell him that after you got your signature/question/picture and see his reaction.
I d'ont think he'll actuallly get angy at you, it's too much effort.

As a Trump supporter I can kinda understand you. But I've found Doctor Who to have one of the most open-armed fandoms out there, just don't be a dick and you're set. Although I can easily imagine a situation where you'd bring that up to a bunch of other Doctor Who fans and the focus would immediately shift to that, instead of the overral love of Doctor Who. But that's because the field of political discussion is fucked these days.
Colin just has a pretty strong personality, it's one of his best features. And I honestly can't see him telling you to fuck off if you love Doctor Who, he would deeply disagree with you, but you're prolly already used to that given your political views.

It's hard to feel included in any fandom these days as a Trump supporter, so you just have to soldier on, you sorta create a thick skin around it. At least in my case.

As a lefty I feel pretty at home in the Doctor Who fandom, but I'm also an enormous weeb and all the anime fans I know are Trump supporters who would shout me down if they knew my political beliefs. I went as 11 for a Halloween party a few years ago. Shit, tweed, bow tie, suspenders, sonic screwdriver, the lot. Had a great time, even though only about half of the people knew who I was.
Went clubbing afterwards, still in costume, got some weird looks because Halloween isn't really celebrated that much in my country. Chatted up a girl who had no idea what DW was and thought I always came to clubs dressed in suspenders and a bow tie.

Anyway, it's a lot of fun and I can recommend it to anyone.

I've always found it weird that Netflix only has the Smith seasons and onward. No love for 9 and 10? I don't see any reason why the BBC would sell the rights to 2010-onward NuWho but keep the RTD era to themselves.
Not that I care since I've got S1 to S4 plus the Specials on DVD.

American Netflix got rid of all Doctor Who sadly, we can watch nuwho on Amazon Prime and they have a few episodes of classic who but you gotta pay to watch them. The BBC has some streaming thing called Britbox for yanks where you can watch most of the classic series but there's no real sense since you can watch them all illegally super easily

What an idiotic thing to say. As if couples are fused together 24/7. We don't live together, we both have different schedules, like normal people. Obviously we're not together all the time. The fact that you immediately don't believe it when someone says they are in a relationship makes me wonder just who is "spergposting". Anyway, no need to derail the thread further.

The guy looks completely toothless, his mouth is so wide, his eyes are so tiny. The way that people keep saying he's Hartnell's double reminds me of the plotline in The Chase where the Daleks create an android replica of the Doctor, but because of production limitations he's played by an actor much taller than Hartnell and with a totally different facial structure. It also reminds me of the way fans gushed over Richard Hurndall's resemblance to Hartnell in 1983 but now can't stomach to look at his badly "off" impersonation. The same will happen to David Bradley.
>>
>>85460897
I think iPlayer keeps episodes from currently running series up for about 6 weeks before taking them down. They want you to buy the box set from the BBC Shop, so they don't make the full series available to watch on iPlayer in one huge binge. Older series aren't on iPlayer.

DW likes to allude to several events, concept or monsters that we never get to see. Which one are you most eager to see in future?

For me I've always loved the idea of The Nightmare Child from the Time War. We have no idea what it is or what it looks like, or even if it's a single entity or just an event.
Also 11 mentions Face Spiders in Christmas Carol, describing them as large spiders with a human baby's head. Now that's something I want to see.

Who said they needed subtitles? And when they do, it's usually due to bad sound mixing.

I thought those were just nicknames for things, particularly the timelords he was addressing. The skaro degradations are the Daleks (or more accurately, the degraded Kaleds), the horde of travesties were the events committed during the timewar, the nightmare child was either the Doctor or the Master, and the could have been king was Rassilon, his army of meanwholes and neverweres were the Timelords who supported him.

The Skaro Degradation is a specific group of insane, extra mutated Daleks with weird casings.
11 calls the Daleks and Cybermen Neverweres after the Universe blows up in The Big Bang, so I guess it's just a name for paradoxical beings.
The Nightmare Child is some kind of monster because 10 believed that Davros died after his ship flew into its mouth.

I'm a /pol/tard, I watched Doctor Who growing up and never realised they paired Rose with a black. Then as I got older I looked into it and realised a certain group are pushing interracial relations to weaken the nation and take people's identity from them.

He sleeps when people aren't looking, often when he blinks. The Console room is his bedroom, or where he sleeps. Just puts his feet up on whatever is adjacent for a few winks. Also space cocaine/meth.

Good point. Classic Who would have done something like a pod in the centre of a room with wires and ducts and shit. And a faint blue glow would surround it as the Doctor sleeps that acts as a neutronic time field where the Doctor can get 8 hours in three seconds.

Now days it'd be some semi cosy bedroom with momentos and pictures and a teddy bear with a fez or something

11 probably set up a hammock under the Console and slept there.

We're gonna see this in the Christmas special, right? From Petes view?

Children of Earth was a great spectacle. S1 and S2 were okay but filled with completely unnecessary and forced "adult themes". Sex gas alien, evil pixies, everyone having sex with everyone, everyone turning gay or bisexual for an episode just because.

Children of Earth was a great standalone story spread out over five days when it aired. Instead of focusing on random sex for the sake of it, it actually told a good story with a good build-up. The adult themes came from the fact that the 456 demanded human children to use as drugs, which is a much better way to catch the attention of adult audiences than gratuitous and out-of-character sex scenes.

The very first rumors that said Bradley would be in the Christmas special said that it would involve them saving Gallifrey and link back to Peter's first scene. If they got the Bradley bit right, it's possible they got the rest of it.

In all honesty, that can easily be retconned. They likely didn't know he'd have a different color light when they filmed it. I wouldn't say that "deconfirms" it.

A person's race as such shouldn't be part of their identity.

What you posted is literally just a meme. You think it deserves an argument?
