Oh hi, Johnny! I didn't know it was you!

hahaha
WHAT KIND OF DRUGS DENNY
Thumbs up if Nostalgia Critic sent you here :D
>>85448576
The most amusing scene. Everything about it is so bizarrely robotic.
>>85448576
>I didn't know it was you.
I can honestly say that in my 28 years of life I have never seen another person that looks anything like Tommy Wiseau. It would be pretty hard to mistake him for anybody else.
hereyougokeepthechangehidoggy
I don't know why I haven't bought a physical copy of this movie yet.
>>85450213
I don't think it's robotic as much as everything is just so wrong. The dialogue is poorly placed and delivered, the camera cuts awkwardly. The dog is just the icing on the cake, and I think this scene alone is worthy of endless analysis because it does so many things so wrong to the point where it's amazing.
ohai mark
IIRC in the Disaster Artist book Greg claims that Tommy thought the dog was fake at first and even asked the owner if it was real.
>>85448713
Probably.
Toto is probably dead too.
>>85450213
It's been through a dozen layers of adr. It's like every line of dialogue was loaded into after effects and fired off at random.
It's amazing.
>>85451064
What a story Mark!
"Maybe you're right Johnny. Maybe I do have a girl, and I don't even know it yet."
This is one of my favorite lines. The way he tries to be "sneaky" as he says it sells the whole thing.
how hard did you cry?

Wow, second thread in like 5 minutes. Good job, guys. Just dropping by to tell y'all about the movie "The Disaster Artist" starring James Franco and Seth Rogen. If you guys like The Room, you'll love this new one. Go watch it in a cinema next to you! haha
>>85450213
the best part of the book too when you find out he thought the dog wasn't real at first
>>85451284
I'll never stop by being amazed at how handsome he isno homo. He should be a world famous action star but instead he found himself in the bizarre whirlpool of an alien mystery man's life.

The first time I saw the movie I had no idea about the whole cult surrounding it and I was convinced it was some sort of porno with all the bizarre sex scenes in the first half
>>85456797
You know what they say, looovvve is bliiinnnd.
>>85452516
A tragedy only rivaled by Shakespeare
You know, for all his faults, I actually thought Wiseau's "HOW COULD YOU LOVE HIM" was competently delivered.
>>85452516
>reaches for the box opened
>closes it
>opens it again
>acts surprised that there's a gun in there
Classic
>>85456782
Arguably he lucked out. He could have been just another Hollywood prettyboy, bluffing his way through premiere interviews like he gives a shit, but instead he gets to be witness to and tell the story of one of the greatest and most surreal labors of love in cinema. He ended up becoming part of something truly unique instead of just being part of the oscar bait factory.
>>85460028
He was in that really shitty horror movie about killer marrionete dolls right before this. He mentions it in his book. You can tell that he just simply isn't a good actor.
>that scene in the book where Tommy and Greg went to see The Talented Mr. Ripley and Greg realizes that Tommy is Tom Ripley and he's the one being beaten to death with the boat oar
that was the most poignant part of the whole book to me
>>85460028
>>85460167
Plus he's probably made a decent chunk of change off of appearances/screenings and his book. Certainly more than if he was just some nobody.
>>85460167
Retro puppet master. It's not so good, wouldn't fault him on that one though.
>>85460167
Sure, but even so the point stands. He got to be part of something historic rather than being another forgotten mediocre b-movie actor.
>>85460312
That whole chapter was Kino, I pictured Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" playing in the background.
>>85460360
1) Greg clearly made a ridiculous amount of money for being in the room. Of course he doesn't say the number in the book, but I'm almost willing to bet that he made 500K
2) the book definitely netted him a good amount of money
3) Franco/Rogan bought the rights, and he might be getting a percentage
4) Probable cameo appearances as the movie grows in popularity
Greg is set for life after 4 months of work
>>85460947
Not to mention how Tommy gave him a car and probably still sets Greg up with money every now and then.
>>85460947
This shit just makes me feel sorry for the poor woman who had to play Lisa. She was just a young woman who wanted to be an actress, and then Tommy Wiseau happened to her.
>>85452516
I love how they're not sure if Tommy's dead even though he's practically floating in a pool of blood.
>>85460312
>>85460780
it was amazing, especially the revelation that the Room was Tommy's Mr. Ripley
>>85461335
True that. She got the total opposite deal. It's been a minute since I read the book, but I think she was paid dismally compared to everyone else. And she had to regularly make out with Tommy and feel his dick on her belly. One of the modern examples of the used and abused women who run to Hollywood trope.
>>85461335
>>85461887
>paid like shit to repeatedly fuck Tommy Wiseau in front of other people
Even whores have it better desu.

Especially since all of the sex scenes are front-loaded into the movie, one after the other. My friends thought I was showing them a porno the first time we watched it.

>>85463837
YOU ARE MY ROSE YOU ARE MY ROSE YOU ARE MY ROOOSEEEE!
I just remember the sex scenes being awkwardly long and Tommy looked pretty ripped
>>85465006
He looked old man ripped.
Laugh all you want, but Tommy made his own movie, entirely his way, and got a cult following that loves it (in a weird way, but still). That's more than a lot of people can say.
did you know that james francos brother makes these room threads to promote the new flick?
>>85452516
he was too pure for this world.
>>85465121
This thread made me want to watch it again. The first sex scene (which comes in before 5 mins of the movie) is over 3 minutes long. Greg said in the book that literally everything that they shot ended up in the final cut, except for the first sex scene being cut in half (Tommy wanted the first sex scene to be over 7 mins)
