ok so something that has crept into my mind recently about season 7 episode 2 of GOT was that in kings landing, some old dude, probably a grand maester, and the top blacksmiths in the city worked tirelessly day and night to make a big cross bow that is supposed to kill dragons. it wasn't even that impressive desu.
Then literally 10 mins later, euron greyjoy and his crew fuck shit up with some flaming missiles that look about 10x as deadly as that shitty crossbow in kings landing??
idk man, ever since i've started going on /tv/ i've been noticing holes in the show, and especially how much of a wooden spoon danaerys is. Reeeeeeeeeee

Those were launched with catapults
The shots are big and and dangerous but they're hard to aim, and only worked because ships are relatively slow (especially when they're not expecting an enemy attack).
Hitting a dragon with a crossbow is significantly easier than hitting it with a catapult, which would be like hitting an eagle with a slingshot, and that's even if the catapult can reach the heights at which dragons fly.

Yeah, the general that is going on.
