I was actually very optimistic for this movie, despite having been let down by Nolan and the hype surrounding his movies almost every time. And while there were several amazing visuals, (the torpedo and admittedly almost every part with the planes) it just ended up being a long action sequence with good effects. No story, no characters, no commentary, no questions, and a bunch of the same shit over and over. Like five sinking boats and five of the same dogfight scenes, five bombings, a totally worthless time jump gimmick that made it less coherent while adding nothing, even if there were good actors there was pretty much nothing to act, and Hans Zimmer doing the same chugachugachugachuga shit he does every time, but this time it lasted the entire movie. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't especially good either.
