i was gonna watch the two films back to back one weekend a while ago but i just ended up getting drunk instead
getting shitfaced on weekdays is nice, but the extra free time for drinking allowed by the weekend really makes for an unmissable opportunity to go all out
suppose a rewatch of GS/GS2 is gonna have to wait until halloween

Halloween is ages away. I didn't think Ginger Snaps 2 was as good as I remembered it being after re-watching it last week. The first is definitely better.

i almost always viewed the two films back to back, or watched GS1 one night and then followed it up with GS2 the night after
GS2 lacks the charm and humor of the first film, but it is a great horror film in its own right and the complete tonal shift compared to the first one is what gives it its own identity and much of its merit in the first place

It's not a bad film, and it's certainly a lot better than the prequel. I like that it does its own thing. I just think I inflated it in my own mind to a point where I remembered it being as good as the original, and then found I didn't really feel the same when re-watching it the other day. Although the tone is the logical continuation to Ginger Snaps, I don't think the actual content of the movie is too engaging until about halfway through.
