I never expected anything, and you shouldn't either.
Its all the same shit and nobody ever tries anything new. They just took the movie, made it TV ready by adding tons of useless filler, added some homos, interracial sex scenes and the typical drama that we have seen a billion times before but in slightly different settings.
nobody ever wants to expand a universe and look at it from a different point of view because "that formula already worked once somewhere so lets do it again".

a fucking trailer is nowadays already enough to know what shit awaits you, sometimes even the announcement is already enough.

No resemblance to the story whatsoever. Looking like they couldn't justify a whole series based on the original premise alone so they're throwing all kinds of cheap random supernatural shit in.

its shit. shit dialogue. shit production. shit cast. everyone/thing is a walking cliche. 'hey lets add some shitty rape/bullying side plot into our show about a murdering fog'.

I took me way to long to figure out why this is the same formula as all the other schlock .

Literally 2nd rate soap opera carp with a paper thin veneer of ___ genre added .

I feel like this is real common like a trope but can't place enough examples but TWD

Versus what I want in a creature / sci-fi / survival film/show

- Exposition on the who , what , why , how
- Cool AF action scenes
- groups coming up with solutions to problems and implementing them
- devising tactics and strategy to combat the situation and creatures

very little exists that really scratches this list

what really grinded my gears is what happened in TWD with the negan situation

it was a hopeless situation they get surrounded and captured then they get set free !?

They have a group , the compound , guns

Then negen shows up personally to see to the disarming and looting of the town

frontal approach 20 men and a few trucks

This situation would have been perfect for a ambush that would have taken out this small force with potentially 0 casualties

But instead they bitch out and give in

Then the ensuing firefight when containment is lost and creatures start to come through
