Oh you misunderstand me. I hoped and expected 1 and 12 to have that talk. I just thought the whole episode would be about just that. Two men in a snowstorm, convincing each other. While I hoped they could pull that off without an actual plot happening in the background, I doubted they could do another Heavent Sent (but with 2 Doctors).
Just saying that now we know a bit more about the plot, it looks rather exciting actually. At heart it will be 1 and 12 discussing regeneration, but the trailer makes it look like an actual adventure/romp with 1 and 12 teaming up and it sparked my excitement.

Well, way back in the olden days of 2005 I took Doctor Who a lot more seriously then I do now (I wasn't quite a Planet Mondas Classic Who is perfect NuWho is all dog shit type but, I guess I was pretty close) so anyway, the point I'm getting at is I thought Boomtown was "ridiculous and very un-Doctor Who like" with all it's slapstick and whatnot.

Now I have to say it's the kind of episode I hope we'll get every now and then with Chris (although I wouldn't mind if he went lighter on the slapstick compared to Russell)

That scene never fails to get me chills, anon. One of the best moments in NuWho.
I also always get chills when watching that scene at the end of The Eleventh Hour where Smith walks through Tennant's hologram and accounces that he is the Doctor. The speech, the music, the hologram showing different aliens while Smith decides on his outfit, then the holograms of all the previous Doctors as the music gets more and more exciting and finally that moment of stepping through 10 and declaring himself 11. Great stuff, always.
