I went back & watched some of it recently, it didn't age well.

It's good but I'm not sure if in the same sense as in the 90s.

The water clone MJ twist and the episode with Stan Lee blew my mind as a kid.
Also, I went and rewatched some of it after reading Spider-man wasn't allowed to punch villains in this and it was hilarious

the x-men one aged a lot better. it helps that they had a consistent storyline (the anti-mutant nazis) throughout the entire series

only awkward episodes are with cable and apocalypse

Not really. The animation was trash and the stories were lame. The arc where he mutates was pretty cool. X Men, Batman, and Superman were all better cartoons.
