The Capaldi era has been applauded by some for being an in-depth exploration and validation of Doctor Who. Could Chibnall possibly continue this sort of meta vision and apply it to the drashigs? He's said he wants to do something daring.

I'm envisioning a Hell Bent sort of example where a finale is set up to conclude his big dramatic character arcs and series plots, but it diverted to being a lowkey exploration of the drashig psyche.

Given that Chibnall did dive into building up the Silurians in Hungry Earth/Cold Blood and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, I'd say a return to the Drashigs is pretty much confirmed. I think with Chibnall's writing and modern technology we could take a very interesting look into Drashigian lifestyle and culture in a way the show hasn't been able to before.
