Truly underrated. Simcoe is easily one of the best complete-bastard style villains of all time.

Because I watched the new season when it came out like a month ago. Fucking great show. I keep forgetting it exists every year until a new season comes out
Major Hewlett is best boy. God damn I miss that old officer attitude.

Damn straight!
Last time I made a thread about this show, one anon said it discredited the whole concept of American Independence. I still have no fucking clue what he was talking about. How is this show un-American?

Dunno. It's actually more historically accurate than many of these kind of shows. Like when's the last time you saw British Irregulars in any Revolutionary War movie? And it properly conveys the atmosphere of a rebellion/civil war type scenario as well as all the different colonial groups. It really feels like a loose confederation of the vastly different kind of people that it was. That's why they had to work so hard to make their common cause. Sometimes I think people forget it really was an old school dirty guerilla war too for the most part. Hell, the British WANTED to have a regular stand up fight because they knew how to win that. Instead some of the most celebrated battles in the war are things like killing a bunch of German mercs in their longjohns in a sneak attack on Christmas.
I just like all the famous little details that people remember but rarely make it to film like Arnold saluting during his defection. It's neat.
