I love looking at the DVD selection at Goodwill / St. Vincent's, but I never buy any. I don't have the shelf space to be that compulsive, not when piracy exists. Thrift shops must be a dream for people who collect DVDs though.
I have bought some VHS tapes from thrift stores, and old TVs. Bought a TV from the 70s at a local thrift store just today because I want to play Atari and didn't have a TV with an RF modulator.

Love it. Finding something rare or just generally cool never gets old. My favorites are when it's some rare deluxe edition and it's still in the plastic, unwatched.
Once I found all these rare bootlegs of Asian movies that weren't released in the west at the time together with a huge pile of film school books (Thompson/Bordwell books and more) from the early 2000s that all had notes with the same handwriting. It seems someone gave up on a dream :(or maybe the person diedI also bought some most likely self-built guitar at a thrift store once that probably belonged to some old guy who died
