Alien shouldn't even have been a franchise.

The original was great, Aliens was pretty good and worked as a sequel because despite being the same movie as sequels usually are the style was different enough that it worked.

Alien 3 isn't bad, but felt unnecessary, the assembly cut is a lot better, but nowhere near Alien.

One of the few good things to come out of the franchise was Alien Isolation, which surprise surprise took inspiration mainly from the original Alien.

The Alien was scary because it looked scary, was unknowable, mysterious and you didn't really know it's true intentions or how capable of thought it was. Was it just a animal acting on instinct or was their method in it's actions.

i just started replaying Isolation. before i never beat it cause i got to that game breaking bug where stands in a tunnel to use the computer above her.
i liked playing the nostromo dlc a hundred times and the other side missions.
