I haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
Loved the visuals and world, costume and alien design but hated everything else, especially the two main characters with Delevinge always acting like she didn't give a shit about everything and Dehaan doing the same while also looking like he's addicted to at least two different kinds of drugs.

How did they manage to put so many terrible actors in a movie?

Beats me.
The most amazing thing is that the whole act that features Rihanna could be cut from the movie and nothing, absultely NOTHING of the plot would be lost.
The whole thing only existed to stretch the run time and to show off some crazy costumes of intergalactic escort girls.

it was also luc bresson quoting .. luc bresson. there was another blue alium in 5th element that similarily had a deep message about love for the main character before kicking the bucket
not that that makes it any better
this movie blows. for some reason i had faith in this. fuck you luc baguette
It started out good and really did immediately capture the french 70s sci-fi vibe (which I love). BUT the movie dragged on and fell apart, any attempt to build connection to characters or the plot was lost as the 2 main characters were quickly shuffled between scenes (often via roller-coaster like rapid CGI visuals) as their colleagues or newly met co-characters constantly and hurriedly died so that our two heroes could leap forward and make sarcastic wise-cracks to themselves. It was like they didn't care at all that everyone they came into contact with quickly died soon after (thereby turning the co-characters into lame 2D plot devices rather than actual people).
This soon removed any possibility or real feeling, care, or concern from the movie for me. A lot of people will shit onto the 2 leads as bad actors but I think the main problem was the editing (feels like 4 hrs worth of story was aggressively chopped down to 2 - reducing impact of every scene), pacing, dialogue and a story that was probably good at first but was retouched over and over during development by derivative and clueless execs/hacks.
