What did /tv/ think of pic related. Thought it was breddy guud, The fights could have been better edited IMO, and definitely needed more about fighting/fighting styles given the run-time. About today was the perfect song to end the movie to, and it's melancholy/reconciliatiory tone made me tear up.
Kind of a generic movie full of cliches and average writing. It was solid overall, but nothing impressive, which is why most people have forgotten about it entirely. It's also a movie that lends itself well to drinking games. Take a shot every time somebody says the words "physics teacher" or Tom Hardy says something unintelligible, see if you can stay conscious for the whole movie.

Do people really find it hard to understand Tom Hardy?
Good movie.
The Fighter was better.

hardy should have won the fight at the end
I never got why the guy didn't just move out of his house if he couldn't afford it.

Because Amerilards love living on credit and buying stuff they actually can't afford. This was a pretty accurate depiction of the average yankee mindset.

too cheesy and american for me. Some things were cool but the whole "brother vs brother" in the final is just cringy.

Cliché done right, but my main gripe with the movie is that Hardy's character is the one who should have won. By losing the fight he doesn't get to fulfill his promise to his friend's wife and therefore the whole stake that the movie raised gets just lost is a totally depressing way.
