Crew wakes up with no memories, they ahve to find out who they were and who they are now, Season 1 is slow as shit but builds up the story, Season 2 is better but has some bland episodes and season 3 is good or you'll have got used to it by that point

Yesterday's episode was decent for a bottle episode. But honestly it doesn't feel like the story is progressing. It feels more like they tell us it's progressing than showing.

Go an entire episode without anything really happening except a big cat and mouse game

Killjoys has roughly the same budget or maybe a little more but they went the Andromeda route. They show the enemy fleet. You see consistent usage of forces. The chemistry between the actors is great. So much better than season 1.

All in all even with the A story for kill joys being about a pirate lord faggot and his butt lover. Still better than 'Dark matter'

Killjoys has fewer locations and they are repeated a lot, It's like they put most of their budget into cgi and set/prop design

I do like how close the Killjoys all seem though it could be said the only reason the Raza crew are sticking together is because of familiarity and they have nowhere else to go, It's more of an obligation to them

my point was that wasn't the case when it first started out and killjoys made a lot of mistakes in the first season, trying to pair dav with main bitch was a huge mistake that they completely dropped. The jarhead brother dav's acting/the way they wrote him was terrible in season 1.

They completely turned it around. Now by season 3 they're actually doing world building and you have a decent set of locations that all seem to make sense.

They do have less locations which is why the show's aesthetic seems work more for me and I used to like dark matter more but they keep making mistakes with the story, an easy story that should be awesome. Wild west in space with hot chicks should be the easiest sell on the planet but numales that ran stargate just I don't know, it's like they've been trying to stick this antihero landing for 3 shows now, started with Ronan, then they did SGU and now here and it's same shit and it never fits. They just cannot write believable bad guys. The bad guys that do work are mustache twirlers that are just really likable like Baal.

Their personal charisma carriers the bad writing and its infuriating that Canadian machine is all we're going to get.

I don't know, the way they handled 1 instead of making him an interesting bad guy was a huge narrative mistake and they probably got rid of him for budget reasons. 4 doesn't make a convincing antagonist and was better as a mind neutered honor nut warrior guy, he was at least likable like that. All he does now is sit around and bark orders and while last night's fight was fun its just..feels like a waste of character.

The black dude despite how many genre shows he's been on..especially alphas. He is a charisma blackhole. He just doesn't emote. All the women are more or less fine as they are considering.

3 is one of the better parts of the show and they've saddled his story with a ghost girlfriend. None of the story decisions make any fucking sense. Why.

He was on a heist on some planet when he got shot and left for dead in the woods, she was a farmgirl who nursed him back to health - and she was already terminally ill when they met. As he got stronger from his gunshot, she got weaker from her illness, she introduced him to her neighbors as his husband returning from work on a distant planet and she asked him to stay there in that town and lead a peaceful life after she died but instead he stuffed her in a freezer and flew back into the pirate lifestyle
