What would you consider to be the greatest horror film ever made?
>>85265823
yes. my personal favorite anyway
>>85265823
The Thing or Prince of Darkness or Terminator 1 (Yeah, I classify T1 as horror/sci-fi/action)
"Dracula" 1931. Although it wasn't 1st horror ever made, it literally opened theatres for horror genere. After "Dracula", horror boom exploded.
The Thing is great but /tv/ overrates it to an absurd degree. Best horror film EVER MADE? Really?

Was Childs a Thing at the end?
>>85266046
Keith David, John Carpenter and Kurt Russell have all stated he wasn't.
So take a wild guess.

Post some alternatives. Alien is pretty much the only thing that comes to mind.

I thought they all said that "someone" was a Thing at the end but refused to reveal if it was Macready or Childs?

The Shining, The Exorcist, Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Carrie, The Omen?
All executed with a way higher degree of technical competency ALONE. To say nothing of how The Thing is just average in other ways including acting, plot, pacing, etc.
And again, I love The Thing a lot. I've seen it several times. But it is nowhere near being the greatest horror film ever made.
